My mother-in-law went to Advanced auto and bought a new battery for her 2010 Murano and they told her they couldn't put it in for her because the computer said it would take 45 minutes. After seeing the air box is in the way I watched your video and it was an easy replacement. Thanks for posting this. I told her to tell them your whole how to video that you walk through doing the job was only 7 minutes long.

Thank you for showing me how to remove the air-filter in order to access the car battery for replacement. I was just about to call for the onsite car battery replacement Service because I could not remove the Air-filter even after I had removed the 2 nuts as mentioned in your video. Now that I have seen your video I will try to jiggle the air-filter assembly in order to remove it. Thank you so much for saving me some money and worry, Great Video!

Didnt realize the two screws holding down the air cleaner assembly were held in by some sort of metal clips, and upon trying to loosen them it appears that i have actually broken the plastic piece on the front of the car thats meant to hold them in place.. it seems to have sat back in, securely.. but obviously the screws aren't holding on like they should be.. how screwed am I, and should I be slapping some washers or something on there to hold them in place or will the grommet and the actual intake hold it down, for the most part..?
@mariogama81984 жыл бұрын
You were correct, I was at first hesitant about doing it without a memory back up. I went for it anyway. The old battery was out the new one in and hooked up with in 5 minutes. When I went to start the car it was having trouble starting. I walked away from it for a few minutes came back and it finally started with a little white smoke out the back. I know it was probably flooded, from previously trying to start when battery was dead. I didn’t even loose any settings whatsoever, and the car runs great. Thanks again for your advice 👍👍

I’ve got a 2005 Nissan Murano. My question is about the positive terminal. I’ve loosened the bolt and taken off the screw. But I’n not sure if it should come off at this point. It doesn’t seem to want to. There’s another bolt - that I do see in your video, but I don’t see you taking that off.
@NotATechShow Жыл бұрын
Some cables can be hard to take off. They become fused to the battery terminal. Try a twisting motion back and forth to try and loosen it up. Do not try and pry on it

Thanks for the video! What is the curved rubber tubing (curved downward) just left of the intake of the air box at 2:40? kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2SxmKKur5aMhJI It is not connected to anything. Is that part of the EVAP system?
@NotATechShow4 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. Without being in front of the car right now to see, I think it is just a drain tube for moisture. not part of the evap system. I am curious however and will check it out and respond back with my findings :)
@dfbrl8r4 жыл бұрын
@@NotATechShow Thank you for the response. Funny thing is... We had a check engine light come on, scanned it, and error code P0101 came up. I changed out the MAF sensor, cleared the code and it came back. I read somewhere that code isn't always the MAF sensor and may be a dirty throttle body. I was going to take the intake apart and clean the throttle body, but haven't gotten around to it so we've been driving with the code for a month or so... Anyways... When I was taking out the battery, I noticed that hose was covered/blocked with dirt. I cleaned it the best that I could without detaching it. After replacing the battery and starting the car back up, the check engine light is no longer on. I wonder if that was the cause of the code/CEL?

Hi, I would like to know how many kilometres do I need to replace or change my nissan murano 2016 battery? because this is my first car and I don’t have any idea.. many thanks 😊
@NotATechShow4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, the battery replacement is not really measured in distance, but time. Regular car batteries, like the one in this Murano, last about 5 to 7 years. Harsh climates like extreme heat or cold can reduce battery life as well. If you start to feel your car crank slower than usual when you start it up, that’s an indicator that your battery is getting weak.

When i try to reconnect the negative the car starts going mad and flashes lights and honks its horn how do i connect it without it happening?
@NotATechShow3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes reconnecting the battery can cause a surge in the system. however, if you have a bad battery or the incorrect battery, it can cause various problems. I would recommend verifying that the battery is good and you have the right battery if you bought a new one. if that is verified, you may have a different problem unrelated to the battery.

I just want to double check does it matter which terminal you install first?
@NotATechShow4 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t matter too much, but you typically want to install the positive (red) cable first.
@1001mema4 жыл бұрын
Awesome thank you!!!
@LeifWarner4 жыл бұрын
You always want to detach the red terminal last and attach it first. The idea is to not have the negative terminal connected while you're touching the positive terminal. While the negative terminal is connected, the rest of the car body is effectively the negative terminal. So if the negative terminal isn't disconnected while working with the positive terminal, you could accidentally touch some other metal with the wrench while it's on the positive terminal, short out the battery, and accidentally weld the wrench to the car body.

@NotATechShow4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! You won’t hurt anything by disconnecting your battery. Depending on how long it it disconnected. You might lose your radio presets but that’s about it. The adaptive memory in the fuel system and transmission will be fine. You won’t even notice a difference when you fire it back up.
