Great video. I love the batt blower for grass clippings but it’s not great for leaves and cleanups. Hopefully next season I will take both a gas and batt blower with me to all jobs during the mowing season.

Thank you, I appreciate it. The blower would be perfect in most situations if I had unlimited batteries in higher airspeed at least 230 and it could replace most gas blowers at that point, And because of that when the going gets tough you have to switch back to gas powered.

@ most I’ve been able to do w the batt backpack blower is 9 properties on a single 5 aH batt, small / medium size properties with very little turbo and heavy blowing. The only problem with it is the lack of max out technology in it means as the batt drains the blower loses power so by the end its putting out barely anything compared to what it did at first and at that reduced power it negates the time savings if not having to pull a cord / mix fuel etc. but it is awesome for my small subdivisions I work in, all 6-7K sq ft yards tiny lots that blower is king.

Good comparison; although cost to acquire, vs. overall regular operating expense would have been interesting as well. Thanks for sharing.

To run the battery blower for 30 minutes takes 3, 5 ah batteries which is basically $750 in batteries. To charge 3 batteries is to run for 30 minutes is $0.06. The blower is $350. They're coming out a new model that's going to be $700 that's full commercial There are comparison charts on the internet, but they really favor battery power with extreme savings over gas. I don't think that's realistic in the real world, but it's something to take a look at.
@sethgthomas3 ай бұрын
@@sololawnprofessional Good feedback. How long does it take to charge those three batteries? Looks like the kit, with a single charger runs about $1000 MSRP with 5AH batteries. OUCH. Hope they get that 6 slot fast charger out for the commercial guys soon.

I have four standard slow chargers. It takes me just under 2 hours to charge. I already had a good quantity of batteries because I have the string trimmer, blower and a chainsaw so buying the $350 blower did not have the same Sting as starting no batteries. Also my main work area I'm allowed to use gas powered. It's just the one area where I do about 20% of my properties has the ban but it's coming my way soon I imagine.

For the price of a battery. You can buy a lot of gas. Gas blowers are rebuildable if something happens to it. If an electric blow goes bad. You might as well throw it away. The electric motor will cost more then the whole machine.
@sololawnprofessional3 ай бұрын
I live in an area where they've now banned gas backpack blowers. There is no option so that's the main purpose of this video, So you can see what the battery blower is just capable of.

@@sololawnprofessional Just more government over reach to cause consumers more money and heat ache. The US can be zero emissions. But it will never stop pollution as long as there are countries still building coal and fossil fuel power plants and have people burning camel poop to cook on.

@@sololawnprofessional Seeing these bans in a lot of areas. I get it in some ways; but it sure is tough on a lot of smaller contractors, especially covering large areas. Huge new equipment investment to move the emissions and noise. Feel for those folks.

Electric motor costs more than the whole machine? Jeeze. I'm gonna start buying them just to take out the motors to re sell them! Unfortunately I don't think you're correct good sir.

@@evanoldhoff4904 I did a Google search and was given this answer: In most cases, it is likely cheaper to throw out a broken electric backpack leaf blower than to try and fix it,
@benjaminleslie31553 ай бұрын
yep, it sucks that the government can ban the sale of gas leaf blowers and gas equipment in general. feels very much like an over reach. but I am interested in seeing just how far battery can go. Ego just unveiled a new blower that claims to put out 1100 cfm! that's very impressive if true. but as for right now, gas is king and I plan on getting myself a 9010 as soon as there's a sale! 🤑
@sololawnprofessional3 ай бұрын
The 9010/8010 are awesome and highly recommended them The problem with the battery blowers they're making these big claims about CFM but they do not have high air speed and you need both to have a very powerful blower. The ego 1000 CFM blower is only putting out 32 Newtons the 9010 with its 1100 CFM is putting out 48 newtons That's a huge difference.

It sucks that we’re all moving to battery power now, especially if they’re gonna ban gas powered tools. People who complain about the noise of those probably has never done yard work themselfs , these are the people that keep the areas clean. Now all power tools can be quite.
@sololawnprofessional16 күн бұрын
The gas blower ban is not good. People need to speak with their local leaders before it happens to them.

Don't get me wrong, the battery blower is very nice to use, but it doesn't have the violence or the pushing power of my Echo 8010. Customers don't understand it's going to cost a lot more money to do the jobs now because it's going to take way longer to clean up a property. Also the batteries are expensive and they don't last forever in terms of life and runtime.

What are the weight difference?

Weight. You forgot the weight of the machines which is important to most people
@sololawnprofessional2 ай бұрын
Sorry about that. Here are the weights of the machines I showed. 8010 26 lbs no fuel 770 24 580. 23 5800 20 with one battery or 42 with 3, 8s
@charleschapman24283 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video, im wondering about weight? I have the 770 and it will wear you down at 25 lbs but I can finish my property in half the time compared to a smaller machine. As far as being able to control how the leaves react to the larger blowers, it take a little pratice but once you get familiar with how it kicks up the leaves its easy. Getting the 770 on is something that needs to be considered, I have to make sure its on the back of a pick up or sometimes I sit it on a garbage can after its started. Anything with weight around 25 lbs and that goes for the electric blower needs cafeful consideration, try before you buy ! If gas powered is allowed in someones area, I would go for gas because you can blow all day and not worry about charging the batteries.
@sololawnprofessional3 ай бұрын
I would definitely stick with your 770 in my opinion the best blower on the market for all around use. I've run the 770 since 2010.

Where do you live that they banned backpack blowers? I live in NY and they're banning small gas engines next year. There's no way in hell someone will tell me what I can use on my own property.

I'm at the DMV area. They have full bans in a lot of these areas Fortune the area I'm in. You can still use gas powered but I work in areas you cannot. $500 fine for the first offense and then $750 every time after that.
