The first release of Command rocked the foundations of modern PC wargaming, steamrolled its way into the Pentagon and won numerous "Wargame Of The Year" awards. Now, the restless rascals at WarfareSims are back at it with a vengeance! The already legendary game of modern cross-domain operations returns with an all-new UI, even more refined simulation mechanics and a host of new features and content to engross you into the challenges of warfare post-WW2 and in the 21st century. Are you ready? Are you up to it?
No man, and no armed service, is an island. Aircraft, ships, submarines, ground forces and installations, satellites and even strategic weapons are at your disposal. You are given the forces and their hardware; but you have to direct them wisely.
You asked for a faster, smoother earth-globe interface with richer, even more detailed map layers - and you got it! Over half a terabyte's worth of satellite imagery and terrain elevation combine to deliver an unprecedentedly crisp battlefield for your forces to roam.

I'll have to find a good scenario. The desert storm ones are massive.

Such an action packed scenario. Seeing the missiles launching against you and waiting to see if the countermeasures worked was a thrill. It was also interesting to read about this battle.

It was nail-biting for sure and I wish ai could explain jamming and the weapon systems a bit more. It is something I plan to work on in the future.

I enjoy Modern Operations a lot. I really feel like modern forces today underestimate static air defenses these days. Just looking at the Yom Kippur War, Israeli air forces were rendered pretty much useless trying to operate under the umbrella provided by the Egyptian air defences. Think they had Buks or some similar weapon system. This was also the war the first used anti tank weapons like the Sagger in actionm where Egypt used them very effectively. And Egypt started the whole conflict by breaching a heavily defenced water crossing, despite seeming to be the underdog in a lot of ways, so really a very interesting conflict in a lot of ways. Do you pay a subscription for Tacview or is it a one off payment?

Tac view is a one-time payment and it can be used in a variety of sims. We've touched on sagger missiles before on this channel. It allowed us to talk about the quality of various forces around the globe. Yom Kippur war was an interesting conflict. When I finish my books I will have to find some covering it.

Do the Tacview still have the quite annoying 'godseye' view, where it sees things not already spotted by sensors/planes/vehicles etc etc?

I don't think so, but I am not sure. I only use it for cmo, and I wonder if I can use it for dcs tank combat.

I bought Tacvew Advanced during the Dec 22 sale, but refunded it just before hitting 2 hours. Even as it gave so much more 'life' to CMO, it showed objects that shouldn't be seen, at that time at least, and acted odd for submerged subs too. I didn't try it with DCS Combined Arms, as I didn't even think of it, (and I put all my flightsimming away a few years ago, and decided to stay on the ground, and/or in WWII with a few dips in the Cold War, so haven't played any DCS for years)

Command is cool, unfortunately most of the good scenarios are really long

Do either of these nations have active submarine units? Remember that in the Falklands War the Argentine surface navy was basically disengaged due to their presence. How likely are we to see an engagement like this between multiple surface combatants?

This mission was created from an older database, but I would imagine that they have subs. I would have to do some digging. There's a Falkland war dlc, but I do not own it. A lot of the historical dlc ten to be complex. I was going to do a Desert Storm mission but it had a ton of moving parts The Silent Service dlc focuses on subs but I barely know how to pilot that weapon system.
