Giants five super bowl match ups happened to be teams they fought in the regular season. SB21 Broncos ( AFC West vs NFC East in the 86 season), SB25 Bills( AFC East vs NFC East in the 90 season), SB35 Ravens ( then AFC Central vs NFC East in the 00 season) and SB42 and SB46 Patriots ( AFC East vs NFC East in the 07 and 11 seasons)

The Giants never played the Ravens during the 2000 regular season. They played their division, but they played the Titans, Browns, Steelers and Jaguars.

@@GenericBoringName428 I know most teams prior to 2002 don't face each other like that because at that time the league got 3 divisions and the outer conference meet every 3 years but some divisions got more teams for AFC Central at the time got six teams since the Browns returned a year prior. The Bills didn't face the Chargers til 98 last time they faced it was I'm the 70s somewhere but Jim Kelly never faced them and he was retired two years before their match up that's how crazy scheduling was at the time

BUF did not sweep the NFC East in 1990. They lost season finale at WSH In 1990, they did not play DAL because DAL won the Tank Bowl (1-15 in 1989, did not receive the 1st overall pick due to using it in the 1989 Supplemental Draft) so the scheduling formula at the time gave DAL a last place schedule (NFC East for 8 games, home & away vs TB, vs SD, at NYJ, entire NFC West of SF LA ATL NO) BUF played at NYG, at WSH, PHI, & PHX

Postseason football was a different type of game: physical and favoring the harder hitting team. Buffalo was built by Bill Polian, who obviously built the 00 Colts, who had their problems in the playoffs.

Bills were 14-2 vs NFC in the four super bowl seasons. Only losses were season finales (90 WSH and 91 DET) where we sat starters and had 1 seed locked up. Funny how fate went against us. Beat Giants 6 weeks before SB XXV, Redskins were a 4-12 team 2 seasons after '91 title and beat Dallas in between those 2 SB losses, week 2 of 93. Wasn't mean to be I guess, maybe one day.

LT just couldnt catch the ball against buffalo. In 87 they had him play some tight end and he dropped a touchdown pass that wouldve got the giants the win. And well, you see his drops in this one. I hadn't thought about the 87 game till seeing these highlights.

Completely different styles that made for a great Super Bowl. Maybe the Greatest. I don’t feel like this game gave either team an advantage in the SB , considering both teams did what they wanted to do, and it came down to a missed field goal.
