That's the best example on youtube of what a Ridgerock is capable of. I picked up a RidgeRock specifically so I wouldn't have to hand over the transmitter of more expensive rc's but now I might be the one asking if I can drive my son's truck.

I'd like to see the Capra do that run on the Ridgerock wheels.

Good video. I can 100% agree the ridgerock is awesome. The Capra is good quality …. But overpriced when you consider the upgrades it needs.
@UtahValleyRCCrawlersАй бұрын
Biggest issue with the stock capra is the tires but even just removing the shock spring cups and putting in an 11t pinion completely changes it. Next up for mine is tires and overdrive!

Recently got my 4ws Capra due to the sale. I immediately added brass to the front hubs, installed a Fusion Pro with an 11 tooth gear and a Radiomaster 5 channel RX as I am going to eventually add a dig servo. With the additional programming available on the RM MT12 I set it up with front steering and rear wheel on a knob, crab steer, and proportional steering all on a 3 position switch. After watching the vid I may incorporate a rear steer with front on a knob as well. The only thing left to do is tires, the Nito's are a very poor choice for such a capable crawler, they are trail tires, period. Love my Capra's!

The Ridge *does* run 3s. Sonoran Scale Studios runs his on 3s and I run mine on 3s also. That in my opinion is the sweetspot for it. Still creeps slooooow but has that little extra pop of power. Just don't force it in a bind as the gears and drive cups are plastic. Try the tires without foams/much softer foams, it's a very light rig, I've done the same mods to mine overall, as yours except Losi Rock Claw 2.2s

I am partial to the Ridge Rock, but I think the capra would have done better with better tires

Hey Adam, man your camera angles and skills are on point... good job dude. You even look better on camera than in person... and having seen you in person multiple times that's one great feat! HAHAHA

I just picked up a Ridgerock a couple weeks ago. I agree that for the money it is a stellar truck. I have issues with the hardware stripping out of the skid plate where the links connect. But with a bit of hot glue they should stay put for a while. I have also found that AMK Capra steering links fit the Ridgerock, you just need to take the nuts off of each end and just use the swivel ends. Great side by side comparison! Thanks!

Still rocking my Danchee and now Ridgerunner.Both are great with just aftermarket tires.Also because of the their low prices I lend them out to friends that want to go out and try rc crawling with me.
@AnySumptionBanterАй бұрын
I will always recommend the ridgerock as the first crawler to anyone and everyone. you break something, replace it. you learn a lot. Tires make a big difference in this. Once you got the right ones for your rig/environment, the fun jumps up.

I have an original Redcat Racing RS10. Much like the Danchee Ridgerock but it is all aluminum, still MOA and 90 degrees of articulation. Its pretty good. I have run it against my OG Capra and it held its own. My Rockslide has the stock 2.2 bead locks but I put some RC4WD Mickey Thompson Baja TA on it, much better than the stock tires.

I really want a Capra but I’m new to RC and it’s a ton of money for me. I currently just have a Trx4m as my first and it’s ok since I put crawler gears,tires beadlocks,inserts,brass wheels and 59mm shocks. It just won’t crawl like I want due to body and weight distribution. This ridge rock seems like a decent budget option though.
@modernart86Ай бұрын
I honestly don’t like MOA rigs. Seems too unrealistic in terms of these types of rc’s. But that’s just me, everyone has their own opinions. I rather spend a little more and get something quality and durable. But the ridge rock looks fun and promising. But I’d still have to go with the Capra if I were to choose between the 2 is all I’m saying. Thanks for the video Adam! Awesome as always!
@brandonwynn9801Ай бұрын
Ridgerock was my 1st crawler. Tummy tuck, 1.9 duratrax deep woods, and 3s made this buggy go anywhere. To be borderline hobby/toy grade, it really is quite capable. That capra is BEGGING for a fusion...

Stock system does infact take 3s all day ive had mine 4 years now and its seen alot of different versions lol but now its running holmes 380 motors hobbywing 880 on 4s steel gears on the mt12 radio. I love it.
@topqualityfi8216Ай бұрын
That mod makes it god tier really, if you have enough unsprung weight
@topqualityfi8216Ай бұрын
And with those 380 it stops doing that what you can see in this video, the rear wheels are not pulling forwards sometimes when he turns

@@topqualityfi8216 yea in reality im gonna run a duel esc set up to stop that its the worst part of 2 motors on one esc

I do like my capra, tires and overdrive helps alot. I added stick on wheel weights on the front servo and really crawls well. I'm definitely getting a ridge rock, I like Redcat products. Have you done any videos on the Ascent Fussion?

Time to extend the wheelbase on the Capra and go 2.2s
@dudeonther1978Ай бұрын
You can save money by adding a tune to your Capra that is really good and gives you drag break. I ran it for 2yrs like that and just put a fusion in. The Nitto tires does not do this rig justice. Those Hyrax tires on the Capra alone will extend the the the Capra’s capabilities over the other rig by far. I have a friend who is constantly working on his ridge rock unfortunately. What matters is what puts a smile on your face

@EDGEWOOD-RCАй бұрын
Nitto tires are not as good as the 2.2 hyrax, Put them on the Capra and you will see a difference. They both need a FS-GT5 so the rear steer can be on CH-6. Click,click,click everytime is annoying at Best. And the Capra is begging for a fusion 1800 for a drag brake and FOC. Do that and Cappy is on its way to being a great crawler.

If you’re like me, you were a little disappointed at the amount of money that still needs to be spent on the Capra to make it a good truck. But and it’s defense it’s a rock bouncer. But I was just expecting more. But nothing another $400 didn’t fix lol ouch !!!!and yes that Ridge rock will run 3s day.
