I've wanted one since launch. Mix in a few torpedo bombers and you've got yourself one hell of a large scale battle. Each team gets a dreadnought, a few destroyers, a few subs, infinite torpedo boats (5 at a time) and infinite planes (5 at a time) and infinite airships (5 at a time). First one to sink the other's capital ship wins.

The fact that there's German voice lines for sorting submarines would also suggest that the Zeebrugge map would have them, as well as the second map to go with it in its operation.

The hope for submarines is not lost. Either DICE have abandoned the idea of adding submarines or they aren't confirmed as of now. One thing I know is that camels and submarines were supposed to make an appearance in this game, but might of been canceled. The proof for submarines is that there's a file which appears to have an audio of a German soldier saying "enemy U-Boat spotted" while camels on the other hand are featured in the official battlefield 1 art book and seem to be found in a kinda warm or desert environment, which might mean Achi Baba and Cape helles should have them. Either all features aren't confirmed because they might not be added, or they have been fully abandoned, which is a dumb idea to be honest.

I did wonder if it was big enough and had enough weapons until I did some research. NOPE its big enough, its a lot bigger then the Char 2C and has four weapon compartments. A canon on each wheel like the Mark V, a top loaded cannon and MG in the turret, and a ball turret underneath the turret. Not to mention a rear facing MG in the turret. That's enough space for four players, same as the Char 2C. Now how you balance it and not make the wheels a massive weak spot I don't know, but it certainly counts on all fronts. Besides, WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE??? The Russians barely made vehicles in general and its not a German Behemoth that I'm sure.

Indeed, granted I am totally fine with the Char 2C being there but yeah, it was a weapon designed for World War 1 but missed the window of opportunity. The Tsar tank was built during the war and tested during the war. It just was a miserable failure and managed to get stuck in the testing grounds and was never touched again until it was melted down in the 1920s. Yeah, if we can use unreliable weapons like the Mondragon or hell something that barely existed like the Hellreigel then Tsar tank is totally an option. And it would seem like a blast to use, maybe even more fun then the Char 2C and I quite like that Behemoth.

This game has been such an eye-opener. I thought I knew quite a lot about WWI but over 200 kills for a U-boat? I honestly wasn't aware of how much subs were used in WWI. Thanks for sharing. Now to see if I can actually afford to get the DLCs. There SO expensive in Australia. :(

Fun fact, at the start of WW1, Germany actually had the least number of submarines out of the major European powers. The initial interest came from the British, purchasing American Holland boats for their fleet.

What will a submarine behemoth be useful for on a conquest map? Only way I could see it being a behemoth on a naval only game mode where each team gets a set of dreadnought. Besides that, what will it do to anything on land? It's not like it can launch missiles.

I could actually imagine them playing with uneven behemoths here, i.e. some coastal assault/bridgehead scenario like some maps in BF3. The ocean side team would get a Dreadnought, while the coastal team would receive an Airship or Armored Train.

One vessel i would absolutly LOVE too see in turning tides are q boats which were special types of ships disguised as regular passenger ships yet armed too the teeth with weaponry such as mines and torpedos and would use their disguise to lure the u boat closer to it before ambushing it with their armament.

BF1942 was the only game to truly feature the submarine. It's a shame that the vehicular gameplay of 1942 basically disappeared in favor of the limited selection in BF2, but if this is true it'll be awesome, especially if they do it right. It could even be like a pre-alpha Special Forces expansion, with new mechanics for sea combat.

idk if it's just me, but I would really like to see action inside the vehicles/boats/submarines. what I mean by that is like being able to move around inside the submarine and maybe if it's taking damage be able to fix it.

Hey Flakfire, I know the Russian DLC is coming up and people are already assuming that the Tsar Tank will be the new behemoth vehicle but, we already have a breakthrough tank-based behemoth; the Char 2C. What people don't know is that giant strategic bombers were deployed on the Eastern Front by the Germans and of course, the Russians. The Russians used the Muromet bomber while their German adversaries used Zeppelin-Staakens; bombers with wingspans equaling that of the Boeing B-29 bomber which saw combat in the Second World War. I was wondering if you could touch upon this topic. Keep up the great work!

the new behemoth is a giant submarine. u can only submerge a few times and are timed when u are submerged. a new plane is the one u talked in vid to target the behemoth itself.

The British faction is already commonwealth, note the Indian medic, dark skinned sniper, and one soldier probably being Canadian or Australian, the last soldier is british

This sounds like progress, I really hope you are right. I don't miss the choppers as much as I thought I would in transitioning from BF4 to BF1, but the watercraft in BF1 are disappointing. A Dreadnought version of Carrier Assault could be fun with it only becoming vulnerable (or taking increased damage) after conquest style flag captures or a frontlines push.

I think Turning tides could have 2 allied factions vs 2 central powers factions. British Royal Marines for Zeebrugge raid part & ANZAC'S for Gallipoli. British vs Germans for Zeebrugge & ANZAC vs Ottoman for the Gallipoli offensive. & for Apocalypse they should make it multi faction so they can depict other involved nations such as Canada, Belgium etc.

To play with the submarine you have to be a premium player and have bought the sub dlc. Weapons will be a salvo of 4 tomahawk missiles.

The irony being that the German subs were largely the only way to strike again the British navy. While subs were an affective form of sea combat, the size of the British navy (the biggest in the world at the time) little option but to only use subs.

At this point I'm not getting my hopes up. If they do add them the anti submarine vehicles are going to be op. 1942 naval warfare was great because of the limited view distance and gigantic maps. Being able to see exactly where the enemy is at all times will definitely alter warfare in a negative way. (IMO)
