You can tell the team at DICE cared and had passion for this game. The Vietnam Expansion was incredible.

God, I miss when they did actual expansion for games instead of seasons or whatever.

Deadshot: "Are we some kinda bad company?"

One thing about BC2 that I feel like people never discuss is the sound design. A lot of people praise the game for being so good with destruction, that an entire map can be destroyed by the end of a match, but when you blow something up you really feel it in the sound. All the guns and explosives sound so powerful. I have a distinct memory of me being in a building defending an objective and a tank shoots at my building, exploding near me, damaging my character and making me go deaf for a second. When my hearing comes back, I hear the building about to collapse so I jump out and find someone else to shoot. And nowhere are you forced to become some specops superhuman, you are just some guy in this action movie situation. I think that is what makes it so well loved, that it was absolute insane destruction without jerking itself off

Yeah, the sound was amazing. I remember having ptsd after one match with war tapes on.

Bad Company cast is basically Battlefield friends. There a scene where Milo and Sweetwater are trying to get into a broken satellite, the way they were trying is exactly what Neebs and Simon would do. Milo is Neebs with one being quite capable vs nearly useless. Both look alike. Sweetwater, smart- Simon having dumb luck Redford- to Medic: Grounded, generally just want to complete the mission correctly. Haggard- to Engineer both will blow up the world if given the chance. I have Recon as Ligionnare boss, both fighting solo, black combat suit, and fly helicopter. I wish Battlefield friends could make a fun parody movie of the BBF doing a bad company story. I pay money to see that.

I seemed to be in the minority about missing the goofy casual nature of the characters from BC1. In BC2 it was such an odd shock to have Hagard who ran across a neutral country’s boarder to chase some gold trucks now act all serious and stern. Still, the multiplayer was one of the best Xbox 360 experiences I can remember.

I agree. It was interesting to see the characters in more dramatic situations, but the tone of the original was better and helped the game stand out more.

Sometimes, in quiet moments, i loved to do nothing. Just stand still and listen to all the weird conversations.
