Wanted to show a friend just how fatal boarding is. The only real armor I stripped here was the nose and right side of that one juptier.

Nice one youtube, this is totally eve online.... anyone else heard of this expansion? Apparently you can do skirmishes in simulation with turn based combat. Never knew this XD

I'm super late but I find that boarding is the most effective way to deal with battlestars. Either they switch to a defensive posture to deal with the boarding parties (reducing the lethality of their main guns) or they kick their ships into high gear and hope they take out my fleet before centurions purge the ship.

Until I realized you were playing as the cylons, I was going to say that the Colonials had very VERY poor strategy. Now that I know it was the AI. . . well honestly the AI for colonial ships kinda sucks.

lol was mainly to show a friend at the time the power of boarding with cylons. Not even battlestars were safe from it. Though this vid is dated now as the cylons got nerfed hard in that department making boarding near useless now last I played.

Not sure why you'd waste any missile ordnance on a Cerebrus carrier. Once they've launched raiders, they are almost useless in the Cylon battle group. The slowest Colonial ship can do rings around and outmaneuver them (maybe not Janus), and their gun batteries are extremely weak. I ignore them entirely until the real threats are dealt with. But yeah, Heavy Raiders are pesky if they make it to one of your ships. A battlestar's flak on full defensive mode usually wipes them out if they slip through your fighter screen though

I was playing as the cylons here lol. But a cylon carrier can prove to be a decent support ship if handled well. Slow, yes, but every shot fired at it, is not a shot fired at another ship. Pesky? 3 of them means straight up death lol for any ship they hit. 2 can mean trouble, 1..... not worth it. But if 3 are coming your way, you shoot em, or they seal your fate lol.

that makes so much more sense, LOL. I like the way you outmaneuvered the Jupiter's with your gunships. done properly, I've taken down a Jupiter with a cerastes

Oh yeah, fast nimble little buggers. I've ruined my friends days with them a few times. Clutched a bumble game with one (got the vid up on my channel lol, bumblebro battle)... and they fit with space to spare behind a jupiter lol. This recording though I did mainly to show my friend just how lethal boarding can be.

Phil Frye the Cerberus is not useless, it is heavily armored and has heavy guns on it, it also can REARM heavy raiders with more centurions.

if you're playing against the AI, Cerberus can be killed with an adamant cruiser 1:1 once the fighters are cleared. against a human player, they can be used more effectively because they can take a lot of punishment

Hey.. just picked up this game on Steam. So.. what am I supposed to do after my Marines board a ship? The Centurions are beaten.. but nothing happens... not sure if im supposed to do something, or leave and blow up the ship?

Boarding has had quite the nerf since this video was put up. However no there is not much for you to do when you send boarders onto a enemy ship. Marines will only nerf the ship they are on. At this point you just blow it up like normal. When Centurions board they will damage to destroy subsystems, then slowly and eventually blow up the ship.

Greetings, yes I played as the cylons, you can play as either side when setting up skirmishes and or multiplayer. (though this vid is now very dated XD)

Fast, nimble, anti fighter capable (with out them my raiders would have been slaughtered) and able to take a bit of a beating. Maneuver them right and they can take out a Jupiter 1v1

The one thing I never got about bsg was why they never built a override subsystem into the cylons. The colonials could have stopped the first cylon war and all future conflict with that one system. But Everything has happened before and will happen again.

Problem with making a half decent adapting AI is that there is always the chance it will find the override and devise a way to either stop it, delete it, or corrupt it so that way when used it has no effect. For the Cylons..... yeah I dunnu the whole story, I'm mainly in for the game play honestly. But AI's.... those that learn leave lots of room for the unknown to happen. Unseen loop holes, unplanned work arounds ect.

@@Littlelostdragon BSG has changed a lot since 1978 that its hard to keep up with the storylines ever changing view point on what happened and why particular things happen. In the original I believe the cylons only went after humanity because the colonies of Kobold(colonials) sided with the cylons original makers this lizard race that was subsequently wiped out.

Arion McDade Aye. In the reboot Cylons had two t led to conflict. The first was that they wanted freedom. The second was that the Five original humanoid Cylons fund them, created children via the other models of humanoid Cylons, and Cavil had a strop as he wanted to be a machine, more than he wanted to be human. So he manoeuvred the Cylons into another war... not to destroy humanity, but to punish his creators, the original five humanoid Cylons. He wiped their memories, made them think they were human, and then forced them to participate in the destruction of humanity as witnesses to Humanities extinction... That’s my understanding at least. Cavil is, in the words of Monty Python, a very naughty boy.
