I'm glad people find joy in the Urbanmech. I just hope we see renewed focus in the future from CGL to get more mechs into the hands of fans which have not yet seen a single plastic model yet.

I big part of this is people buying in their local store though. I've seen stores try and stock it and it just doesn't take because people 1) don't play in store 2) Don't buy. Barnes and Noble has been able to buck this trend though.

I have watched your video on the Urbanmech, and your words ring hollow. Let us enjoy this without bitter words. There are literally 50 new minis coming in the kickstarter, multiple dropships, a added lance of savannah masters, a new star league box soon, AND a road map (look up Sleepless Ronin's video on it) for years in the future!

@@stuggaroy Not sure how I was hollow here? Also, as a long time customer and multiple KS backer of the products CGL puts out, any critique I levy at them is justified, I spend money on their products and they aren't above critique. That said, I'm pretty positive about most things BT so without a specific comment you took issue with, not sure exactly what was hollow here? I'm also a huge fan of the trash can with legs and cannons so.

@@Timuroslav I think what he might be getting at is stores that cannot get stock that do indeed want it and players who cannot get product that want it. Our local shop here in the middle of nowhere has a small shelf with a bunch of BT stuff though and I'm lucky enough to have Fortress right up the road so sourcing minis isn't an issue for me fortunately, but that might not be the same for others, especially those outside of the US that might be dealing with logistics and supply chains issues.

As an Urby and LAW enjoried this is a must have though I have to admit it would be teriible in the roles I have my Urbies and LAMs.... the Urbi puppy gaurd my gunline/atlases and the LAM scouts and or harasses the enemy so they don't shoot the gunline. I don't tjhink the uberan mech LAM can do etheir of those jobs.

Hehehehehe. When we were doing the Urbanmech Lance Pack, Randall offered me the option (via Anthony) to choose two more stock Urbie Designs, or make the LAM "real". Knowing that like the Urbie in general, in all other forms, that this would still sell like hotcakes, even if, just like the Urbie in general, a small but vocal group would be loudly butthurt over it.... I chose violence. And I regret nothing, least of all causing Ray nightmares. But I will confirm much juvenile laughing was heard among us in the modeling croup when we were placing the flight peg. Peg is bent on purpose because we wanted it canted in flight.

We dont use the LAM rules in our typical Classic/AS games but basically it has 3 modes. Normal mode as a mech is one. Another is it flys around like a WIGE unit and gets extra TMM. The third mode lets it operate as an aerospace fighter (but not as good as a real aerospace fighter). I think the current LAM rules aren't too bad and its not overpowered, the rules just add more complexity to the game that some people may not want. Back in the old days LAMs WERE actually overpowered in many peoples opinions so using them was not looked on favorably but with the newer rules I think they are marginal at best.

Personally I would have liked to see a phoenix hawk LAM model released instead of the urbie, I mean at least it would be a "mostly legal" miniature to use in games instead of a troll mini.

Hello AP! How's the model quality? I am working on a Catalyst Stalker from the IS Fire Lance box and she looks like she was kicked in the side during drying because the whole chassis is deformed and leaning to the left at least +2mm... Incredibly bad quality I am very disappointed with this level of quality insurance. Catalyst should just 3d print their stuff. Anyway, how do these look?

What you see in the video is essentially what I see in real life. For the most part these look pretty solid to me. If the mini you got is that bad it may be worth contacting customer service to see if CGL will replace it.

You'd think CGL would have enough money after that KS to not have to spend time on meme products... I mean... Good for you if you really like this product, but it's exceedingly frustrating for anybody outside of the US to see time being spend on this, while decent shipping and availability to the rest of the world is still painfully underdeveloped.

To be fair someone else could also say they wish CGL would take their ks money and not make more clan mechs because 3025 is the best and only era worth playing. (Sarcastic example but the same thought process). Regardless of whether or not this is a meme product, it’s a product you don’t want, it doesn’t change the fact that other customers will want said product. It could just as easily have been any other force pack with a faction or minis you personally don’t like, that others do, that you felt was a waste of time. It’s perspective. One might argue they shouldn’t be developing any product, meme or otherwise, liked or otherwise, if they could have invested into their infrastructure first to help get their existing products to markets that can’t get it before pushing a new launch. That makes sense to me. But if this had not been a meme product and was a force pack you liked, fact would still remain your primary concern would still exist regardless of what the product actually was. To the point. I like minis, I like to paint them, I like to talk about them and play games with them but would I trade a slowed down release schedule if it meant CGL was investing in their infrastructure and aiming for better efficiency? I sure would. More people getting into the hobby and IP is good for the community and ultimately good for the longevity of the company. Hard for those players to get into the game if they can’t get their hands on product.

​@@ThearmedpainterI like minis as well, it's why I'm so insanely frustrated that CGL can't seem to get their thumb out of their @ss to get a decent distributor in other parts of the world... Just yesterday, I've ran a demo to two new players who loved the Alpha Strike demo... They are now contacting our local 3D printer guy to get their mechs instead of having to deal with everything being out of stock in the EU or paying throug the nose for shipping (and the inevitable import fees) from the US. It's probably one of the reasons why this particular release got a lot of vitriol along with the KS shipping debacle (especially here in the EU, where we have to pay VAT for that shipping as well).

This is a weird argument. A joke pack is not at all the same as a Force Pack I just happen to not want. I'm not angry or upset about it, just uninterested, but it's disingenuous to say that someone who's annoyed they made an Urbie LAM in lieu of any of the many, many units that haven't been made (including canon LAMs) has no leg to stand on is silly. In the end, CGL does what they want and if they are successful that's fine. Everyone doesn't have to like it or be treated like a butthurt loser for wishing for something different.
