I am an American ex-pat living here in Batumi. Too bad you only saw the new weird Las Vegas lookalike part of town that still isn't finished. You missed 3/4 of the town - the old city is fantastic here. Make another trip and I'll show you around.

David Langellotti Hello David. I am a Canadian and planning on buying a property in Batumi within the next 18-24 months. Possibly I can get in touch with you sometime as I’m very interested in finding out the basics of moving to a new city and country such as finding a family doctor/ dentist, a good lawyer/ attorney, where to shop for furniture and groceries etc. I’d even pay to hire someone as a bit of a tour guide. Cheers and Merry Christmas 🎄

...And also, just in few more other details about Georgians (as from historian by education). Georgians in Caucasus, Etruscans in Italy, Corsicans in Corsica, Picts in Britain, Spanish Iberians in Spain and other Iberian/ Celtic peoples of Europe have same ethno, ethnic origin and represent Iberian race, Iberian, Ibero/ Celtic peoples of Europe, this is why all these listed peoples ( together with the originality of each of these peoples) also have similarities, identical in the different forms of culture, in folk music, dance, in ancient architectural style and so on. Also Georgians cultures of different historical times, periods are European ( together with their original Georgian cultures, influences with different European cultures, beginning from ancient times, influences with ancient Greek civilizations/ cultures, with Roman cultures, later with Byzantium culture, Catholic Europe and other European cultures during the history of Georgians, Georgia.), and of course all these historical things proven historically/ scientifically by World's, European (including Georgian) historians/ scientists, and this is why Georgians European/ Western way is absolutely naturally and historically right way to returning to their European roots, which means to returning their true Georgian roots in this South- Eastern, Caucasus region, where Georgia itself is located, and this is how the vast majority of Georgians consider themselves and their country. Sincerely, Alex.

@@-A.D.- Not that I like any of these 2 places, I still prefer this place Batumi over Dubai. Dubai for me cannot ever be compared to any place in the Mediterranean for all the simple reasons out there. Dubai is pompous, but much of the richess you have in any of the countries Spain, Greece, Italy but more sporadically and less confined at one spot. But then you have infinitely more charm/culture/history/picturesque views and atmosphere aside from the fact that the environments especially in Greece and Italy are incredible. So instead of driving out of Dubai into endless desert, you drive into endless variety of natural beauties of almost any kind. But anyway. Just saying!
@GabrielTravelerVideos

@Sam Suby At which point did I glorify casinos? All I said was that they have them in Batumi and in Las Vegas, but not in Dubai, which is true. I really don't care about casinos one way or another. I spent a week in Las Vegas last year and didn't spend a single penny gambling at a casino.

Hi, just in case, this is not so, the first, Gabriel Traveler showed only a part of this city, and such high building have other European, Western countries, cities, but this does not mean that they look like Dubai, the rest of Batumi is absolutely eastern European-type city, including beautiful buildings, houses, streets and squares, with absolutely European architecture and it is not by chance that Batumi, from the earliest periods, beginning before our era, during the time of the kingdom of Kolkhida (Colchis) was one of the social, cultural centers of the then South-Eastern Europe, the ancient Greek civilization, etc. Even the flag of this Georgian region shows this past history, which is a mix of Georgian and Greek flags. The camera work -- when you pan in/out of signs, restaurant menus etc -- may not bother others, could be a tad nauseous.

@Z J ...I can see the efforts and money being pumped in....Those are "Sego" Palms lining that walk- way which grow slowly and are hugely expensive....How does Prague do it ???....With Roman style Coliseum hotels ???.....No...nothing "gimmicky" there...They have a 14th Century clock...A castle/church on a hill...a bridge.....Things stay in an old 500 y/o style really, and cheap...bang for the buck is what draws people.....
