3 Days Solo Canoe Camping On Popcorn Island

I take my canoe camping and stay on a remote island for 3 days and 2 nights. I cook amazing meals, do some fishing, and wood carving. On the final day, rain and strong winds forced me to retreat and due to heavy winds, I was towed back to shore. Watch More Camping Videos:

What an amazing camping spot!!! Your meals looked delicious, I’ll definitely try them. WOW, GOD is still in control when we let him take the “wheel” of our life. My heart sank when I saw how windy it was when you were ready to leave the island, but just at the last moment God came to your rescue with the guys in the motorboat! It reminded me of the Bible verse where Jesus calmed the sea when they were out fishing and a storm rolled in. Heads up sir ! Anytime you're camped to far away from the canoe ; it's always better to take the paddle with you just in case by someone happens to swim on the island there ; and they see your canoe b, they may want to borrow your canoe without your permission . 👍

I love how effortless you make camping look, although we do know the struggles involved. I don't camp, but do love watching you, and the aerial views as it's so relaxing and peaceful. Lolol. That was a nice adventure ☺️ Next time before you go you need to look up or Google about the place to see what kind of fishing it offers. When you crappie fish, I've always use a float and crickets and caught a boat full that way. That log on one side of the island I saw jutting into the water would have been a good place to try it. They like to bed up in trees or logs. But like you said , it was good to just get out and get the fresh air. Thanks for taking us along young man. We can all use some quiet time and enjoy the view. Magical camp spot. What a treat! I couldn't have camped in tent though, either tarp & bivvy or hammock & tarp so got 360 views. Great carving - owls are a blessing. Advice from a canoeist friend - always pack things in bags can carry on back / head; never leave canoe gear (paddles, life jacket etc) in canoe, always keep with you in camp, a bit like car keys (never leave in car). Kevin Callan Happy Camper is an international canoe expert. "Proper planning prevents poor performance". Keep learning.

That's a beautiful area and a beautiful island to camp on. I used to do that in the past but people messed it up for others and can no longer camp on the island I used to go to. Thanks for sharing the nice trip. When you feel like the water becomes uncomfortably choppy , if you kneel with a wide stance the lower center of gravity, and knees bracing the sides of the boat will help with stability. When your paddle enters the water instead of perpendicular to your direction you are traveling you can turn the paddle 30 degrees or 150 degrees and hold the angle as you are paddling like half of a sculling draw stroke. A cutting angle relative to the boat edge will help you go straight or right and a spreading stroke angle relative to the boat will help you turn left. You can see the effect best on a day without wind.

Another Kenny adventure.... well, if some crazy bear swam to the island, at least we know Kenny has a big ole pig sticker and if the bear gets frisky all Kenny has to do is poke the bear a time or two and he'll know it's time to find another human to bother!!! What a beautiful video l just enjoyed it so much. Such joy in your heart. I really like this tent you used in this video. You used it in a couple other videos in the freezing cold and it worked well. Loved the owl and the coffee stain was perfect. The love of God shines through you in every video. I believe God had those fishermen there just for you to keep you safe. Just like when Jesus was asleep in the boat with the disciples and they had to wake him to protect them from the raging storm. It doesn't take a huge storm to capsize a canoe. That island you camped up^onis phenomenal . The views of the mountains and especially the snow on top . Kenny you have gotten some of the best places to camp I've ever seen . What a great episode! I knew exactly where you were when I saw the title. My grandparents had a very primitive cabin on Kilarney right across from Popcorn Island in the late 1960's. I don't think the original place is still there, but how amazing you did an adventure there! I loved seeing all the scenery, Easter Lilies with other flowers and most of all, coconut cream Cyrus O'Leary's pie🙂 I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter. It's nice to have you back though.. Lol.

Another great video , I see the peace of the land spread out before you as you stand there . Was the air the freshest ? You should consider getting a boat .
