I really hope in RE4 remake they add an unlockable weapon called "Ditman's Shotgun", that will increase your movement speed when equipped. It would be a nice homage to the OG glitch, and be a sweet NG+ unlockable regardless.

For those of you using the randomizer there's a fun side effect of using it. It doesn't shuffle enemies in Assignment Ada or Separate Ways, but it does shuffle enemies in Mercenaries mode. Sadly it doesn't randomize any of the characters starting loadout. But I think it'd be fun to watch Bawk do a randomized Mercenaries run. You can get all sorts of crazy things to happen like getting Water World full of only Super Salvadors :/

@1:07:00 You're looking at this the wrong way. It's not about what challenge is harder, it's about which is more entertaining. You, as speedrunner and someone involved in that community, are biased towards the "value" of speedruns. For the average person, not engaged in speedrunning, browsing gaming content on youtube, speedruns are BORING repeated content. Watching you have to survive a room with 20 Mr X is wild and fresh. To them a speedrun on the other hand is impressive once, the first time you see that game broken open. Then your channel uploads 8 speedruns back to back as you're grinding a record and you're watching the guy run the same game, the same path, the same strats for the same 1 second time gains. You end up with a string of videos so identical you'd need a fucking DNA test to tell them apart. That's boring, that disengages the average viewer. That's why the content you THINK is the best isn't getting the best views. People want to see the unique, one off type content. The type of content that might be shower thoughts for them. "What if I played RE3 but every enemy was a hunter? Damn that would be hard. Would love to see someone do that" not "What if that guy played RE2 yet again for the 70th time in the exact same way except this time he mastered the stair run and shaved half a second off that run he did 2 months ago" You can't chase the GDQ audience 365 days a year and wonder why the videos underperform. The people who give a damn to watch speedruns all the time are already watching them, you're not finding any new viewers by chasing the ones already watching.

He uses them twice in the run, though I can't remember when, I just know he does use em. Dunno why he doesn't more often. This is just a theory, but I think re4 sometimes crashes because AMD/Capcom didn't completely fix the game for AMD drivers. I'm playing the game completely unmodded and it sometimes crashes.

You talking about the super chainsaw guys at the end of 1-2 triggered me lol. I got them in my first rando at the beginning of that chapter. 5 of them right after you do the QTE to break the shackles. They would get into the building before I could even leave the back room. Eventually, I was able to knock them over with a grenade and book it.

Also for that Gigante fight with J.J, I've always noticed that in vanilla RE4, one of the Gigante can't die unless you shoot his plaga. I've literally sat for minutes just unloading the Chicago typewriter on it and it didn't die. It was like he was stuck on 1hp until you shot the plaga as the kill shot. However this was on ps2 RE4, don't know if it was ever fixed. Might have to test I on the ps4 version.

Also Horrorscoped did a test on if Luis can die in the cabin, or anywhere else; his HP seems to refill near-instantly from Leon's gunshots and enemy strikes and the only thing that can actually end him is the truck because it constantly does damage. So no need to worry about him in the cabin anymore.

I don't think I could get bored with these randomizers for re4. With the randomizers how well do these keep you entertained bawk? Just curious. Streaming looks like it would be fun at times but I know I wouldn't be able to do it. A lot of dedication just to get enough of a following. And I feel like at times I would become bored of games. I really do take offense with people under the misconception that "being a Man means hiding your emotions." It does not. It's about CONTROLLING your emotions. Remaining calm in a stressful situation and in the case of RE4, Leon had to maintain composure so Ashley wouldn't panic. He had to think quickly on his feet and getting angry and impatient was not going to help. I get so irritated when people get the wrong impression of masculinity like that. It's to maintain the confidence people have in you to do your job or find a solution, THEN express that emotion elsewhere when all is said and done. Men do not express themselves in the same ways Women do and the way people are trying to force the Feminine expression of emotions, erasing masculinity because it's toxic(AKA, we don't understand it so it's toxic), on Boys and Young Men has done nothing but create a bunch of Men with mental health issues who cannot properly express themselves because society has suddenly deemed them evil.

@@gaminggoddess85 Chris really was annoying in RE6. You'd think someone who had U.S. Army Special Forces training before even joining S.T.A.R.S. would have more self-control. I only give so much leeway to his PTSD from (Eastern Europe), but even that was weird after the Mansion Incident and Ashford Island. It felt like it only got worse in RE7 with THAT team of people being horribly murdered by Lucas. It feels like the writers are trying too hard to make Chris "relatable" and the story "edgier". Back to my OP rant, I'm just irritated that Bawk(among others) has the wrong idea. Besides the fact, the dark humor fits well in the narrative for cheesy one-liners as it's a coping mechanism for those in life or death situations and facing your fears is what bravery truly is. I'm not sure why there are those who have a problem with people who don't wear their emotions on their sleeve. It's difficult for me to explain, but it just shows me that they don't actually understand years of evolutionary psychology in Men. EDIT: To note, I'm hoping they don't attempt to appease "that" crowd by making Leon get his ass kicked by Ada. That one scene at the mansion where he manages to disarm her is badass.

Like : not crying, not wearing "girly" clothes or colors, no makeup, being heterosexual, etc etc. In fact, masculinity is an abstract concept. I love this content as is but I think it could be even more fun if you were to include some challenge run elements to it. Like maybe some restrictions such as killing all enemies in a room so you can't just run past everything. Or, maybe a limited-lives run. You start off with three lives and you gain an extra one after every major boss (Del Lago, Big Cheese, Salazar, U3, Krauser, and Saddler). I really like the idea of this one because it could lead you to seeing more randomized rooms at the start-middle of a run, which I think is always the more interesting part of these videos and playing these randomizers in general. You could change the rules as you see fit to make it easier or harder for yourself.

Those "Challenge" runs, I see them as gimmicky runs more than challenge runs. Albeit I know I would fail almost all of them. But that being said, I'd love to see you do some of the gimmicky runs as well!
