I am just an average player. If it can help others like me that struggled a bit to defeat the staff s ghost. I could finally do it by 2 sec. using Birdo, yoshi bike, roller wheels and paper wing, and a shroom right after my boost start. If you are more comfortable with inward vehicules this could be a combo to consider.

I tried some of these tricks but I swear it’s quicker to not swurve and drift on straights sometimes. Like those first couple of jumps where you do the left drift into the right turn was slower everytime I took the turn normally, I rlly don’t get the mariokart meta

Thanks, I love this series. This is the first track where I've tried snaking in any serious way - are you hard drifting or soft drifting when you snake? What's the pattern there?

Always soft drifting. As for the pattern I forget exactly, you’d have to check what I do in the run

I only use Time Trials to beat the staff ghosts-for completion’s sake, because I’m hoping they’ll unlock something at the end of wave six. Vancouver Velocity was a pest. I have a conspiracy theory that they’ve made the Tour staff ghosts deliberately harder… 🧐
@SkullKruncher87711 ай бұрын
I did this without help from baysic since he had only just made squeaky clean sprint's vid, it was SO confusing. Even after this, its still, fucking, confusing.

Your so focused on the 3 different methods that you failed to mention where to mushroom. Also you need a video solely on soft drifting. I thought from the other video that it meant drifting without touching the joystick but I don't think that's correct. I also seem to have issues snake drifting straight aways without hitting either side
@Bayesic5 ай бұрын
The mushrooms were definitely an oversight on my part, but you can just watch the run to see where I use them As for soft drifting, the most viewed video on my channel covers it in detail, and I link to it in the description of all my tutorials. If you don't wanna watch the whole thing though, I've also got a pretty popular short on my channel as well that goes over it kzbin.infom2dpo4Fz6j8?feature=share

you could easily expand the length of the video and not skip so often, maybe show the ghost in the beginning completely. It really confused me that you skipped so much and didn't showed the grass shortcut until the very end due to skipping (like "where did the mushroom go? Where are we"?). Isn't video length (actually watch time) better for youtube algorithm anyway?
@Bayesic10 ай бұрын
I’ve learned the the more I explain strategies that you could easily get from just watching a ghost on your own, the less time people actually spend watching the video A lot of my earlier tutorials are two, sometimes as much as three times as long as this but get a lot less than twice the total watch time. My philosophy is: if there’s something advanced or unintuitive going on in the run, I explain it. If there’s no real explanation needed (such as where to use mushrooms) then you can see it from the ghost replay at the end of the video
