A BBC team has come under fire in Ukraine while following a group of local aid workers.
The volunteers deliver food to villages in the Kherson Oblast region of Ukraine and have continued to work well within artillery range of Russian troops.
As the BBC team witnessed last month, the work frequently comes close to costing them their lives.

Volunteers are the backbone of survival in areas at or near the front lines. Notice the elder holding 3 candles? Those are frequently the only heat they'll have. People CAN help by going to the Ukrainian government charity drive, where food, medicine, blankets etc are bought and distributed throughout Ukraine. Try for just one day sleeping outdoors, eating a pre-packaged noodle dish and using candles to heat it. You live one day like this, people have lived over a YEAR dealing with bombs, mortars, torture, and no electricity. Water isn't clean or clear.

Mylove (Kherson), that's next to the river, 2/3 of the way from Kherson to the dam. This is where one of the battles took place before the liberation of Kherson. The Russians are just on the other side of the river, and can clearly see the movement of the aid convoy, except when they're inside the village. They'll fire randomly until they see them leave.
