I was so over the moon when London won the chance to host the 2012 Olympics, I may not be a Londoner but I'm so proud that I get the chance to watch the games from my native country

@@haroon23tt55 As far as I know, they have been put to good use. The flats in the Olympic Village were given to Newham Council so as to be let out to local people; and the other facilities are in use. The Aquatics Centre was designed by an Iraqi, Zaha Hadid, who sadly died some years ago.

alot has changed since that day,all for the worse need i say,cost to host games well exceeded the 2.375 billion to just shy of 10 billion,following day 7/7 london bombings,2yrs later britian hit credit crunch/recession,still hits us now,2010 tuition fees rise and students protest,2011 hit all time low of unemployment,rising costs n fuel bills,riots spread out across country,protests against pension scheme and banks,since that day we've gone from a strong Britian to a crippled Britian

more i watch, more i repeat it: a shocking decision it was the choice of lobbying, utopic promess, and costful competition. money makes sport, sport makes money, the olympic "pierre de coubertin" spirit is quite dead, now it's just a sort of an immense world sport cup, a pretty one, but not a very digne one. i hope that paris will never participate again to this superchery ;) that said, i hope it will be an enjoyable moment to watch in london
