As for what penguins think of humans: in Happy Feet, the protagonist, the young emperor penguin Mumble, also decided about zoo visitors that they were freaks, “big ugly black penguins with no beaks” (the same as the skua that once tried to eat him , decided about the ornithologists who caught and banded him). In this film, different birds show amazing unanimity towards humans ☺

Similar with a show on big cats, they were so used to the jeeps they'd use them as look out posts and certain females would bring the cubs to the camera guy and then went hunting, but that stopped the guy from following her as he was now on babysitting duty. Reminds me of my own feral cat, I couldn't pet her or put my hand in the box with her babies but she still left them alone with me, going to do her bussiness for a few minutes while I was in the room, I think housecats look for a babysitter though. The animals can progress only to the equivalent of a human toddler. So they forget these horrible experiences very soon, but not completely forgetten. If they were not in the human world, they can be more than just a toddler. Interesting that they can do one or two adult human traits well...like caring for the needy young, and building nest/shelter, or furnishing a den for added comfort. They also defend/hunt well...has to do with the food chain and keeping their world and habitat in balance the "cruel" way. Our domesticated pet cats and dogs practice defensive and hunt the playful way...a lot less "cruel".

Life is really fascinating. Imagine, before modern comforts, we had similar worries. Just think about all the similar stories with people from age old that we never heard of. We shared the struggle for survival.

Idk why I watch these..they always have me in tears. Nothing else does it like animal ones. They’re so innocent. Nature is cruel, which we all know. Truly survival of the fittest.

I cant imagine being the camera guy and just watching this baby penguin lost in the snow looking for her mother. Knowing where shes at and being unable to help as its part of nature. Just standing recording and just hoping that this baby will find its mom really eats away at your insides.

My eyes were this close to breaking into a Nile of rivers when the chick is found just in time by his/her mother. And then, the father is shown caught in his miserable plight while I gulp down an urge to sob once again. The relief of knowing that he made it to his colony is something that words fail to describe. Ah! Emotions should have a separate dictionary.
@eblackadder3 Жыл бұрын
You do realize that nature programs like this have a script and often unrelated footage is edited together to form an emotionally compelling narrative. The "father" penguin was, in all probability, not the actual mate to the mother penguin shown. The chick was likely never truly lost at all. Film of multiple, unrelated penguins were likely used to concoct this gripping tale of survival.

@ScarlettM2 жыл бұрын
They are still just animals and it's all just instinct. Those same penguins can kill someone else's chick simply for trespassing. They have no sense of mercy or deep empathy (other than close relatives).

hi little penguin!! firstly, im so proud of you to finally have found your way to your mom. you were so brave, little one. i also walked through a very strong storm tonight. i was at the brink of giving up. everything felt so loud and im so lost. it was cold and i found myself starting to get destructive. but i remembered i am a penguin just like you, who can walk through storms and not let it take control. ill just walk through and find my home again, my solace. thank you for always, my little penguin. i love you so much!! love, your fellow penguin
