Hi, 'effect' as a noun can mean the final outcome of something, e.g. ‘The effect of this change was that everyone was happier’. The meaning of ‘affect’ does not relate to the size of a task.

So how is it pronounced? 0:05 'Affect or 0:47 A'fecct?
@bbclearningenglish
@bbclearningenglish 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, in normal speech, 'affect' as a verb is usually stressed on the second syllable as at 0’47”. Phil’s pronunciation at the start of the video is slightly exaggerated to focus on the spelling difference.
