In this arrangement, Jamie is playing the leads which he doesn't really usually do as either Alex or Miles Kane would play that part. So in the end (at around 3:51) when Alex was leaving the stage, you could see him patting Jamie on the shoulder, basically telling his bandmate that he's doing great.
@Raver-1601
@Raver-1601 4 ай бұрын
You're reading too much into it. Jamie has been regularly playing this part since 2009 before Alex made a new arrangement in late 2022. Miles barely even appeared for more than 10 times throughout 2009 and 2023

This song has become so popular and it wasn't even a single. This to me, shows that if they released more singles on earlier albums, I can't imagine how successful they would have been. They only ever released two or three singles on the first two albums. I think both could have been even bigger with more singles with more variety of style too.

Lyrics: I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination, you're waitin' lyin' on your side With your hands between your thighs Stop and wait a sec When you look at me like that, my darlin', what did you expect? I'd probably still adore you with your hands around my neck Or I did last time I checked Not shy of a spark The knife twists at the thought that I should fall short of the mark Frightened by the bite, though it's no harsher than the bark The middle of adventure, such a perfect place to start I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination, you're waitin' lyin' on your side With your hands between your thighs But I crumble completely when you cry It seems like once again you've had to greet me with goodbye I'm always just about to go and spoil a surprise Take my hands off of your eyes too soon I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination, you're waitin' lyin' on your side With your hands between your thighs and a smile :)

Whoever the two on the camera at 00:30, that was brilliant. I wouldn't call myself a massive Arctic Monkeys fan, although I do like them, this was one of the best moments of the festival. You could feel the energy building through the camera, was crazy being in the crowd!

Some songs you just have so long to perform before you stop resonating with them and you can't tap into that raw feeling anymore. He almost sings it sarcastically now as if all that's left is a vague sense of foolishness when he goes back to that place he wrote it from and can't help but mock his younger self.

I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight Or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination You're waiting lying on your side With your hands between your thighs Stop and wait a sec When you look at me like that My darling, what did you expect? I'd probably still adore you With your hands around my neck Or I did last time I checked Not shy of a spark The knife twists at the thought That I should fall short of the mark Frightened by the bite Though it's no harsher than the bark A middle of adventure Such a perfect place to start I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight Or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination You're waiting lying on your side With your hands between your thighs But I crumble completely when you cry It seems like once again you've had to greet me with goodbye I'm always just about to go and spoil the surprise Take my hands off of your eyes too soon I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight Or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination You're waiting lying on your side With your hands between your thighs And a smile

I remember when this video was uploaded I was in bed absolutely bawling my eyes out at the end, partially because of how they played the song in the video but also because in my mind I was thinking "oh my god I'm never going to have this experience." as they weren't going to play anywhere near where I live. Fast-forward to October, they posted their north American tour dates on Instagram on my birthday in 2022 and I mentioned it to my mom not expecting to convince her. Fast-forward again to August 2023, my mom bought tickets as an early birthday gift for me. And in September we saw them, I was freaking ecstatic, they opened with four out of five which adore. They also played do me a favour which is a personal favorite of mine. Overall the best outcome possible! (I think about it everyday). 😭😭 Best night ever.
