In this arrangement, Jamie is playing the leads which he doesn't really usually do as either Alex or Miles Kane would play that part. I'd probably still adore you with your hands around my neck Or I did last time I checked Not shy of a spark The knife twists at the thought that I should fall short of the mark Frightened by the bite, though it's no harsher than the bark The middle of adventure, such a perfect place to start I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination, you're waitin' lyin' on your side With your hands between your thighs But I crumble completely when you cry It seems like once again you've had to greet me with goodbye I'm always just about to go and spoil a surprise Take my hands off of your eyes too soon I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination, you're waitin' lyin' on your side With your hands between your thighs and a smile :)

I think the problem most people have isn’t the fact that his vocals have evolved, it’s that he chooses to change the cadence and tempo of EXISTING songs without respecting the original appeal of the songs. There’s nothing wrong with a band experimenting with their style, but when performing their older songs they should stay true to the style and energy they had AT THE TIME even if it may not fit with their style now… Especially since that’s what a large portion of their fans (even those who enjoy their new style) are looking forward to hear when they attend their concerts.
@KingHippo115 ай бұрын
i completely agree. If you want to sing in your current style then just sing your new stuff but if you're gonna go ahead and use the new style on old songs, then thats not gonna work. a good case of this is gonna be with the faster old songs such as Pretty Visitors

I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight Or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination You're waiting lying on your side With your hands between your thighs Stop and wait a sec When you look at me like that My darling, what did you expect? I'd probably still adore you With your hands around my neck Or I did last time I checked Not shy of a spark The knife twists at the thought That I should fall short of the mark Frightened by the bite Though it's no harsher than the bark A middle of adventure Such a perfect place to start I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight Or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination You're waiting lying on your side With your hands between your thighs But I crumble completely when you cry It seems like once again you've had to greet me with goodbye I'm always just about to go and spoil the surprise Take my hands off of your eyes too soon I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight Or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination You're waiting lying on your side With your hands between your thighs And a smile

just in case anyone's wondering why Alex's timing is off, he's doing it intentionally. its a technique called backphrasing, used by various artists like sinatra and elvis.

@@caslvrr It does. Maybe it's not your cup of tea, but they have been changing the way they perform their old songs with every new album making them fit the new style more, like they did with Humbug or AM and now The Car.

I remember when this video was uploaded I was in bed absolutely bawling my eyes out at the end, partially because of how they played the song in the video but also because in my mind I was thinking "oh my god I'm never going to have this experience." as they weren't going to play anywhere near where I live. Fast-forward to October, they posted their north American tour dates on Instagram on my birthday in 2022 and I mentioned it to my mom not expecting to convince her. Fast-forward again to August 2023, my mom bought tickets as an early birthday gift for me. And in September we saw them, I was freaking ecstatic, they opened with four out of five which adore. They also played do me a favour which is a personal favorite of mine. Overall the best outcome possible! (I think about it everyday). 😭😭 Best night ever.

Amazing performance and an amazing song!!! AM is not like other celebrities who promote themselves on social media or "hype" NO they do what they love and what they are good at and look at the RESULT by how the crowd is giving back😍😍😍😍 so humble and soooo talented, BIG RESPECT!!!

2:19 well that’s a badass look towards the crazy fanbase AM has gathered in the UK and around the world. What a band. What a performance. Peace from Benicàssim 🌿

I wanna think Alex is drunk and still managed to make this performance such a slay. If not, he really waited for the bridge to get the whole crowd hyper in SECONDS.
