Women who ‘chose’ prostitution as in this interview are indeed rare. Even those who insist it’s OK- usually tell a different story once they’ve exited. Many are vulnerable, sexually abused as children or trafficked. This is a false narrative given in order to justify the unjustifiable.

If we had this and took away guns, the crime rate would go down FAST, and all of us guys would be walking around smiling, opening doors for all women, and all that good stuff. It funny in this day and age the interviewer is still trying to analyse why a woman would do this type of work. Certain woman have the mental ability to treat as a job and some do not. Its like why would a man seek this out when he could find a woman who would do this? Its not that easy at all.

I'd personally rather earn 25k and work outside of the sex industry, but I respect everyone's free will and choice. The morality of the sex industry is entirely arbitrary -- society has decided that selling your body for sex is immoral but selling your time/life or brawn for work, including slaving in the sanctioned workplace of an office cubicle, is perfectly fine and moral. These are socially constructed norms.

I'm a software developer, and it's hard on my fingers, wrists, back and eyes. The clients are often a pain. Yet, working in a software company is a career I choose, along with its pros and cons, including working 80-hours weeks in years past, to pay my professional dues to my employer at the time. I'd find it odd if someone interviewing me starts out with the built-in skepticism of "she says she choose to work there" as if I lack agency. There is an implied premise in prefacing the statement with "she says..." Treating a sex worker as such in an interview does not give a neutral start to the interview. It feeds into the whole "rescue sex workers from themselves, because it strains credibility that anyone would choose this line of work" narrative that ends up harming sex workers more than helping them. Even so, this interview is likely to have done more good than harm ... so, thank you for that.

@@notwelcome2452 We give people close to 10 years for economic crimes like fraud, being caught manipulating stocks etc. And you want people who actually sell other human beings to get a slap on the wrist? It wouldn't remove such criminals altogether, and the problem will always be in the UK for example the women who have been born there, they are safe. Pretty much a guarantee that they haven't been essentially brainwashed from when they were children to infiltrate legal businesses for those criminals to get a cut sent back to their home country. But having a hard sentence, maybe not lifetime, but 10 years would make it dangerous for that abusive boyfriend who could be taking advantage of her being able to make more money than him in a short time. The ultimate goal should be for making it the safest environment for the seller and the customer. In a perfect world those would be the only two people involved just like regular sex is, but I can understand why it would feel safer for a woman to join a brothel. So instead by having it be completely legalized, regulated and unionized, you would get standards in place. And like we have seen in countries that have done this, sex crimes drops.

Really enjoyed this enlightening video. I found the interviewer to be excellent, respectful, non-judgemental, asking the right questions. I liked listening to the owner-operator, he struck me as quite thorough in keeping his operation safe & none criminal, maintaining a good relationship with the police ( cheers to the police in that area). Lastly, l really found Louise to be refreshingly straight forward & honest, totally agree with her opinion of her work.. l have known for years that fortunately not all women workers in the sex trade are victims, a well known example decades ago being Xavieria Hollander. Also, found it positive to hear from Louise that more & more customers are regular type men.

I agree with all you say, though it did cross my mind whether the `good relationship with the police' might involve a few brown envelopes! Surprised me when I lived in London years ago that it is not like Australia where it is legal. In Australia they legalised it years ago due to the shortage of women during gold rushes, so it is grudgingly accepted. There is still the moral stigma associated with it and there would be a lot of shame for someone to be found to have frequented these establishments. But the women and men are better protected for this, because it'll go on whether you allow it or not.

There is psychological impact in many jobs and many jobs cause excessive stress or leave people feeling used and exploited.Its all a matter of her having control and choice and if she decides its not health for her or too much then she can leave. She can also presumably refuse certain punters and certain requests.Its all about giving her as much choice and control as possible compared to someone who has been forced or cooerced or who has drug issues etc or feels they have very little other choices. At then ned of the day if it is going to be an option for women who want moeny and men who are prepared to pay is it not better to make it as safe as possible and give the women as much power and control over what they do and not the punters.

I grew up with a beautiful young lass in North Lincolnshire. She was always for adventure and we lost touch. Decades later I happened upon her mam ( not knowing ). Wit enlightened I and mam realised that I was a once a friend of the daughter, who happened to be entirely by chance the owner of Ellegance, a five minute walk away from me Brothel. All far too young for me. But the beautiful young lass ( who was born in the same year as me, 1963 ) is now dead. RIP, Nikki.It may be that those whom cast a judgement on you might one day be judged.

It's utterly pathetic that brothels are not universally legal. If people can work as asbestos cleaners or oil rig workers - horrible jobs with a shortened life expectancy simply for the money, why is it morally wrong for people to sell their bodies for sex? Are we 15th century quakers or giggling schoolkids that get squeamish or scandalised at the thought? Reading the comments below, it seems so. I'm sure many people are offended at the idea of people hooking up for free sex on Tinder. Should the world cease to have sex because those people are offended? Or perhaps we should simply tell them not to do what they don't want to do and mind their own business.

It's because it's guys killing themselves in oil rigs. And in a society that revolves around women no one gives a single flying fuck about a guy. The reason society (women) hate cheap prostitutes is because it diminishes a woman's chance of becoming the biggest top prostitute (a wife) more cheap prostitutes like the girl in this video means less and less men willing to get married as more will take the cheaper alternative. To get married means transferring everything will you ever have and every penny you will ever make over to your wife, and biggest worst nastiest kinds of prostitutes going after men's houses, savings, and pensions.

She seems well prepared and demonstrates intimate knowledge of the business and the legisation that applies to it as she discusses all the pros and cons as well as the options one has in the business. @@lah1667 Ohhh...Lah 1! How wonderful to know that there are still men who criminalize and stigmatize sex workers as being so morally and emotionally corrupt, and physically damaged by their work as to be undatable and unworthy of love or attention. Well Lah 1, they are human just like you, and deserve a peaceful and happy life. Unlike other women who have kept themselves "pristine and pure", they are more attuned to how the world really is and all the pitfalls a person can come across. And the sex workers who can keep their job in perspective, mostly have enormeous self discipline, and strong will as well. Guess what Lah 1; not all people, including sex workers make good wives or partners; just like any other woman, but pick the right one, give them the support to never throw their job in their face just to shame them, or feel superior yourself feeding your ego, and calming your personal insecurities, and you will find they make extraordinarily great wives, and likewise become good mothers too. For sex workers the question always arises as to how and when to tell the person you’re dating the manner of work they do, and likewise how to handle their reaction. Many non sex worker women keep a great deal of their past hidden and never...ever tell ALL about their past to any boyfriend, or husband. I wonder why? The basic question is..."do sex workers really date, fall in love, and marry?" Some men consider that sex workers are not entitled or worthy of such an experience. They don't care to listen or consider their situation, and just paint all sex workers with the same broad brush. Relationships can be risky for anyone, especially true for current and former sex workers. Knowing they can freely talk about their work and life with a man who values them, brings out the best in them just like any other woman. I don't necessarily would be going out to desire a sex worker as a wife because of a fetish to have a sex worker as a partner. But neither will I run because I happened to fall in love with a woman who is a sex worker, or was one. In truth I respect sex workers highly. I know I don't have the brass to do such a dangerous job. And yes; too many sex workers die because of their job; its more dangerous than being a firefighter, police officer, or construction worker. The only other job more deadly than being a sex worker is being a soldier in a war. At the very least; I know what I am getting upfront in the beginning Lah 1. This reminds me of a joke by Andrew Dice Clay in one of his live theatre performances once. Andrew Dice Clay (to man in audience): Is the woman next to you your girlfriend? Man: Yeah! Andrew Dice Clay: Do you have a good love life? Man: Yeah! Andrew Dice Clay: Did you guys fumble like teenagers when you got together the first time, or was it a Fourth of July fireworks? Man: It was a Macy's fireworks! Andrew Dice Clay: So..she gave you great "head". Man: Best I ever had! Andrew Dice Clay: So how you think she got so good?! I assume that you are a man Lah 1. If not, the question is the same about your partner. Unless you absolutely...positively...affirmatively...get married to a Vatican Papal Certified Virgin...as the commercial for Capital One Credit Card asked..."What's in your wallet?" Lah 1.
@lah1667

@@Wateringman I won't even pretend to understand what you're talking about. You edited that diatribe and it was still nonsensical, with respect! No, I'm not a man but I guess you must be one to want to heap praise upon someone who has sex with strangers for money. Great. Men are always so quick to defend hookers- I wonder why, only because they go to see them right?! Why not save your admiration for nurses, school teachers and social workers, who are underpaid and do a more noble, front line role in schools, hospitals etc...? If those were better paid jobs, Louise could be using her degree in one of those professions instead of 'working' in a brothel. No woman wants a man who has slept around or gone to see hookers. Fact. Men can't respect females that much if they're willing to relegate them to being a biological function and nothing more. Likewise, men don't want easy women. Ironically, one John said he'd never date a hooker despite regularly bedding them in Amsterdam. Some women are 'just for sex', other women are relationship material because you have things in common and something to talk about with them - his words, not mine. Says it all.
