Yes it may not be a Salsa (I agree with Claudia, it looked more like a show dance) but that's not their fault, they get given the song, I still like this!

I actually think Gleb did the right thing with his creative choreography. We've seen Anita's salsa before and the judges had spotted her weaknesses. Same with the foxtrot. Rather than expose her again Gleb chose this fantastic routine to really show the audience what team Glita's about. I mean this is showbiz after all, even though the dances are marked based on style and technicality. They don't have a lot of time each week to hone Anita's technical skills so it makes sense to just focus on interesting choreographies that will deliver and appeal to the audience. At least that's what draws me into this pair, their performances are always so fun and unexpected and it's what I love most about them.

Some people are comparing this dance to Kelly's samba, but the difference for me is distinct. Even though Kelly's samba had a strong hip hop theme and non-traditional music, it was still packed full of content that actually fitted with the rhythm. It was still a samba, first and foremost. Whereas this is a showdance-esque party piece with bits of salsa thrown in to appease - it doesn't feel like the dance it's advertised as at all.

+Lee Cox I agree with you 100% I think that Gleb as usual done a piece with the proper steps, there's no way you could call this a salsa and when there were steps she couldn't do them. he done this dance without proper moves because he knows she struggles with these dances. I think she should have been marked lower for lack of content. he put on a open jacket for the Gleb fans then made loads of lifts which were good to try and get fans loving those moves to hide away from the fact that this was noting like a salsa dance.

I don't think it deserved a ten based on the minute amount of Salsa content, which is Gleb's error and not Anita's. But despite this I actually really enjoyed it. The lifts were amazing and if I was marking solely on the lifts I'd have given them a 9. If only there had been more Salsa content (and a song change at that) I think this would have got higher scores. The snippets of salsa content I thought were executed rather well by Anita. This is just my opinion anyway.

fashiontammy123 That's the point, though. It WASN'T a Showdance, or at least, it wasn't supposed to be. Gleb got one week ahead of himself if that's what he was going for. So, yes, I WILL tell you that it didn't deserve a 10 because it wasn't a SALSA.

This was absolutely great, creative and enormously athletic, and with sufficient salsa content to warrant 10's. If this is a show about someone without dance training improving, then Anita should win it, as she has made great improvements. Learning to trust one's partner is a very important component of this, and just look at how she enters those lifts, she is fearless! And Gleb is a genius, he simply is! But the judges have already decided who is going to be in the final, and are doing their outmost to eliminate Anita and Gleb. It is obvious, and such a shame, because Anita and Gleb have brought the wow factor and the highest entertainment value throughout the season.

It had INSANE choreography! Anita could be a full-time athlete now. Despite being in the dance-off, she probably could've slipped out with fourth, and left it to Jay or Georgia. Due to lack of Salsa, I'm with a 8.5.

People gave this dance a lot of flack but if you will give a couple a song like this and expect them to give a dance that's proper salsa flavour, as in the salsa from cuba or in salsa clubs, you're expecting too much. I thought this was wonderful and energetic and the lifts added so much. Anita was amazing and still my favourite from this series to this day,

The lift were worth about 9, I thought they were amazing and so daring. But there was next to none salsa content (Gleb's fault) the slight snippets of salsa content were danced well by Anita, so why did Gleb not put more in? May have had something to do with the song choice.

orly burton Hi I found out the other day that it's the pro that choose the music so its up to them what song choice and style of dance they do. I enjoyed the dance when I've watched it again just to enjoy and not a salsa and the way she gets those moves is brilliant. I think if they'd made the finals the judges would have chosen that dance to improve on and ask them to add more salsa content like they asked Giovanni to add more rumba moves in their dance to improve on. They did mark the bits of salsa their was but as judges you can't mark on something that's not there.

I hate it when people say this isn't a salsa coz it's like when Kellie and Kevin did their samba in a hip hop style. that really worked and there was still samba in it and that is what Gleb did with this. he took a salsa, choreographed a salsa with some contemporary elements. I hate when people can't see the salsa in this. also, Anita was clearly a better dancer than Katie and while it was a change to see Anton in the final I think Anita and Gleb should have gone through and their show dance would have been amazing. they were only trying to impress for the semi final.

Had Anita actually performed a salsa that would have helped! As it was she performed pretty much a show dance with some pretty strange street dance moves thrown in. Whatever elements of a salsa there actually was got lost in all the tricks and flicks. Seems to me Gleb to a risk and it backfired.

So many people are moaning about Gleb's choreography and how it doesn't have enough content. Well if he was so atrocious, they wouldn't have asked him to do the show, plus it is like a breath of fresh air. Whether Len likes it or not, the world of dance in evolving and I think Gleb and his choreography offer a window of insight into how young dancers interpret music and dance. Sure, breaking rules shouldn't be allowed such as the rumba lift but at the end of the day, it's a show. People need to stop complaining about the clothes and music choices and just enjoy what is being delivered. Anita had the heart of a lion to perform half those things and whilst everyone jibbers on about how controversial Gleb's being, he by far offered Anita the best strictly experience. Sure the judges under marked her but it wasn't hard to see just how much fun they had and how hard she worked. I'm sure team Glita will be champions in so many minds and hearts.

Must say I think the live singers are great especially this song they made it sound better than the original. Can't wait to see what the freestyle pieces will be like this year with such good dancers in the final. I think it will be a close one this year.

Not a salsa was it? Anita seems happy to be thrown around every week, she lands them pretty well and keeps her shape in the air almost as well as a trained gymnast - but no, hardly any salsa in this. I'd watch it over and again though. If it was just marked on bravery and athleticism this would have been 9s and 10s, but it's marked as a Salsa so the score which got them second to bottom was probably fair. Great entertainment. Anita is sexy as hell.

actually if you look closely Gleb has incorporated a lot of salsa steps into this dance but has merged it with contemporary. they went out there with their show dance which was a viable salsa and Anita was clearly a better dancer than Katie and should have gone through

Post the Strictly final, I am re watching some Anita and Gleb clips..... Feel we lost out by them not being in the final. The show dances this year were quite mundane . Even the judges felt 'something ' was lacking. I wonder what we would have been given by Anita and Gleb.

That song absolutely does NOT fit salsa. There's not a single trace of a salsa rhythm in it. It wouldn't know salsa if salsa turned up and beat it about the head. SCD has made the couple dance salsa to some desperately inappropriate songs before, but this one was just horrific. (BTW, I've danced salsa for 20 years, and used to teach.)

Don't get me wrong it was great fun. But where was the salsa? I know they often take libertys with salsa on strictly because you can do lifts and that pleases the public but this was insane. Would have been a fantastic show dance and if she gets through their show dance should be epic!(which I fully expect she will with everyone fawning over Gleb and his crowd pleasing choreography) I have to say though I'm personally a little fed up of Gleb completely ignoring the rules of the dances he's been given and everyone crying fix when the judges dare pull him up on it.

Dance off needs to be sacked. Because of it, Katie who had performed consistently worse through the series AND couldn't do any Latin whatsoever AND dodged her samba AND performed the worse out of all the contestants on the semi by a mile AND was miles below Anita in LB points AND will be the first to be voted out next week gets to the final. Whereas Anita who performed well throughout the series AND was very good at both Latin and Ballroom AND performed very well in the semis (only complaints were about technique not her brilliant execution) AND would have produced maybe the most brilliant showdance in the history of Strictly next week AND redone her amazing Paso AND given Jay as good a run for his money as anyone is lost. Simply because Katie was able to make a marginal improvement to her Waltz, whereas Anita couldn't improve her salsa or her Foxtrot because the only problems were content which she and Gleb couldn't alter last minute.

+Janet Nickel Also it was very obvious from how appalling her Charleston was that Katie and Anton had obviously just focused on the one dance they knew they would have to redo in the dance off (and even that was messed up first time around). Whereas Gleb and Anita slogged away to create two very difficult and ambitious routines - the sheer complexity of their second dance and the death spiral she had to master for her Foxtrot. But because of the dance off Katie who produced an awful Charleston and messed up a Waltz despite perfect music and Mr Ballroom is saved at the expense of Anita who produced two great, really difficult routines, the only issues with which were 'content.' Len didn't have any issues with the lack of VW in Jay's VW or the lack of VW in Kellie's last week to further add to hypocrisy!

+ Libby Pitcher I like Katie I think she has become a good dancer she deserves to be where she is in the final she has had no prior dance training but no one goes on about it with her like they do with Anita. Anton kept to the rules even when Katie struggled but Gleb broke the rules and didn't put any proper salsa steps in this dance. I agree it was full of energy and she was amazing doing the lifts but it wasn't a salsa. people compared it to Kellie's salsa OK hers had a hip hop song but it still had salsa steps in it.
