I agree that that would be fantastic, but doubt many would want to after reading some of the more speculative comments under the video. It's one thing to discuss what's included in the given budget, but some comments go into marital money cheating possibilities and imply the numbers given are outright wrong or wishful thinking. Budgeting is so personal. Somebody just laid part of their life out for us to see ... I doubt many would step forward for an update vid, but very much wish they would. Such a good idea.

This is really great 👍 For those with limited time 🕓 to commit to a budgeting routine, might be helpful to focus on areas with most control like food and entertainment. Making some small cuts in those areas can free up money 💵 to pay down debt or save without having to spend a ton of time of going through all these worksheets and writing everything out. If time is a non issue, being detailed is always best! 😃 thanks for sharing!

You’re so helpful and your method is simple. There are other great simple methods out there but their creatures speak very condescending cough cough and people just justify it because the method is good. You are calm and don’t act like this. You don’t make me feel anxiety watching you. Therefore I prefer your method.

I am also paid bi-weekly, and for the past several years I have managed to pay half of each monthly bill with each pay check. For example, my monthly rent is $900 so I take $450 from each pay check. I believe this works great, especially in months when I get 3 pay checks. This month (May 2020) I "paid" half of each bill with my check from the 1st, and another half from my check on the 15th. So the check I will get on the 29th will have (mostly) excess money, which I will use to pay extra on some of my debts.

I think the reader also needs to be realistic $100 per month for grocery and $75 for fun for me are not realistic goals. If you think you spend more than $100 a month for food and think that your budget is not working it only means that it is not enough, maybe you can try putting $150 per month for groceries and $25 for fun. Just my suggestion ❤️❤️❤️

I agree that $100/month for food for a family of 4 seems extremely low! Plus, her $100 for food has to cover 6 weeks, because she gets that 3rd paycheck on April 30, and that has to cover 2 weeks into May. I feel like it would help if she and her husband would combine expenses. Or if she is doing the purchases of food and household goods for the family, maybe have her husband give her a set amount each month (like Miko's boyfriend gives her) and then she can work off that amount.
@myshelhilty4068
@myshelhilty4068 4 жыл бұрын
Remember this is a joint family. Maybe the husband provides the grocery budget. Or makes a much larger income to provide larger for the family. 100 is not enough for a family of 6, there is more to this.

I sit down with tea and a soundscape from NewBliss here on KZbin (the forest sounds just released is lovely) each evening and stickers from SaraMarieStickers. They're the very thin tracking stickers. Highlighters in different colors the way Miko does it works too. I rarely have more than 10 transactions in one single day so one cup of tea is usually enough time to quickly log them. It becomes a moment to breathe instead of something to dread for me. I do tend to play old videos of Miko's when I'm going through budgeting or later doing the close-out because those take me a long time and her energy is helpful. But the daily self-care + logging transactions is helping me associate doing it with personal progress. Hope that helps. :)

Hi, Miko! I’ve been watching you for a couple of years now and finally decided to switch to your method for this month of April! My husband and I have a company and we received a large payment in the beginning of the month where I was able to take care of all expenses, variable spending, sinking funds, and extra debt. I am having a hard time now navigating extra income for a month I already budgeted for. In our company, we receive payments on random dates and amounts so there’s no way for me to budget beforehand. Would you be able to address how to deal with unexpected income? Would these payments just go towards the next months expenses? What if I under-budgeted...would the extra payments cover those expenses instead? How would I zero out my budget for the month of April if those extra payments are getting deposited? This would be super beneficial!!! Thank you so much!!! 😌🥰

If she owes her cousin money like that I’m assuming that she’s not actually tracking her expenses to that level. Odds are she is spending more on food/clothing/misc. than she is claiming she needs for her budget. Also I didn’t see her car note on there at all. I think the numbers she provided was more of a “dream” budget than the reality of her starting a successful and achievable budget and then tightening where appropriate

Maria Miranda I agree 100%. I think $100 is thin even if she and her husband are splitting groceries 25/75 with her husband and they NEVER eat out (or he pays for it all). With kids $100 is just soooo slim. I hope she takes this budget and tries to apply it for a month and then adjusts accordingly

May I ask where these big amounts I'd savings are physically at? Like says 2k for a vacation.. is that 2k in an envelope at your house? Or where is it? In my appointment I think anyone can budget.. counting numbers is easy.. but you yourself have to resist the urge of spending more then your suppose too.. ya kno? So it all comes down to our selves if we have it in us to be successful or not.. anyone's else agree? Thanks for sharing hun.. just finished my budget planning and now just waiting for payday so I can put it in actin lol 😊😊

True. Another big thing in being self-discipline is being totally honest with yourself about your #s. I think Ryen said in a takeover that her budget numbers needed to become real numbers, not numbers she was hoping for. 👍

I think she's said before that she keeps those kinds of funds in a separate savings accountnot easily accessible since it will be some time before its fully funded.

Set up a separate bank account and keep the card at home for big savings. Then your also earning interest on those accounts and the money is in a safe place

I find that if I take care of the Extra Savings during the first paycheck of the month I won’t have enough money for the second paycheck’s expenses. So…just hold off on extra savings until the 2nd paycheck of the month and put the leftover in the income of the 2nd paycheck? 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Gas money in a cash envelope doesn't make sense to me. I always pay at the pump so I need a card and also, who is overspending on gas anyway? Might as well be considered a bill

I was wondering the same thing. If she's paying for her car, how come its not accounted for in her budget. Her husband might be paying it, but then does that mean it needs to be noted on her budget worksheets?

@@annielehnhardt_kolakowski5818 there are a lot of people that budget this way- woman that have been independent before marriage seem to prefer to split bills based on income - it seems to work for them.

Can we stop picking easy budgets and show budgets that are true struggle. I understand these are too but the budgets selected every month are so simple and barely need addressing. They set goals to high and that's usually it. Let's see you really do a tough budget and stop with these simple ones. If someone has 900 left over after Bill's.. this is no deep struggle that most of your followers have and the reason they look for you for help. This selected person obviously does not track their spending.

The focus of the budget mom has changed and I'm sure others agree or disagree but I'm not learning anything as a year old follower. You only cover the same thing on all your budget videos now, you rarely interact on Instagram by having us click on polls about budgeting (ex: what do you guys struggle with the most and want me to do a video about??) Nothing. You bake cakes and show us stuff that does not help. I understand keep people interested but you lost your touch with budgeting and connecting with us. I have left comments on videos with questions and so have others.. no answer, these are over 6 months ago. The fact that everyone uses your system differently proves you are not explaining all the details and hiccups well, yes we all have different budgets but there is one system to using the binder and we all have to find our own way to make sense of it because you forget we dont know the detail like you. Please hire more assistants if you are swamped. You either want to be successful long term or keep cost down.. its one or the other.
