Most probably because he didn't want to lose any precious Fighters to any escorting Fighters, particularly with a threatening Sealion about!!!

Golly gee whiz, I oh so wonder what you're going to do with those transports- you just better hope that wherever they're eventually going to won't meet stiff resistance like them Normandy French units caused in the first 2 Rounds of the War, btw what's the significance of the different colored German Tanks?

Yea Normandy proved to be a pain in the arse! I’ve just been experimenting painting a few bits, there’s no significance other than i had some paint to use up
