BBSHD Clutch Replacement Instructions

At 6:23 in the video it shows having the freewheel on the shaft, then placing the large gear back on over it. My BBSHD didn't allow that, no matter how much alignment of the gear and rocking the shaft. The easy way is to put the freewheel pawl assembly into the gear, verify it works, and leave it there. Then just slide the gear/freewheel over the splined shaft- no problem at all.

Yes they did..it is a complete redesign of the bbs02.

how about if the teeth that the clutch engages with have worn down so they keep slipping? how do you fix that?

Buy a new secondary gear from Luna.

I am getting a loud knocking sound when I hit throttle or try to use pedal assist. Bike will not work when power is on. Can only pedal when power is off. I have replaced nylon with steel gear, and replaced secondary gear, used Mobil grease after wiping inside of motor, attached Luna bracket to frame so motor never moved, changed throttle, changed display, changed battery and nothing has changed. What can the problem possibly be?? Thanks in advance...EDIT: I have always had gear sensor installed and brake motor cutoffs unplugged.

Please confirm: That shaft in there, that receives the clutch, is otherwise held by TWO ball-bearings, one on the left AND one on the right. Is that correct?

My Bafang motor doesn't look like this. Mine is MM 6 340 750 09. Is there a video that could help me replace the clutch bearing on my motor?

Have you done a clutch replacement on a Ultra G510 yet I think mine is bad because the pedals wont engage many times but the throttle works perfectly

Very lightly I smear with my finger in the ring gear part where the clutch panels make contact. Do not, I repeat do not heavy pack it otherwise a hydraulic lock will happen and the pawels will not engage. My old clutch had grease that went hard and 2 pawels did not spring up easily, it stayed stuck. That's was why it made sometimes a heavy clunk sound when it was engaging

A clutch have a command to get engaged or disengaged. This is a freewhell.

I don't get it ! My steel gear does not come off with that face plate like it shows on this video !! I'm trying to replace my clutch but when I take the top plate off the steel gear is still in tact & won't budge !! So I can't get to the clutch as easy as you make it seem on this video 😡😡

What is it like riding a bicycle with a Bafang motor attached and the power turned off? Is there any added resistance in pedal rotation caused by the motor?

very little resistance...not even noticable when riding.

i'm hearing loud knocking sound when i hit throttle 90% of the time is that normal? after a year of use i noticed that I rarely i get a smooth throttle push with no knocking sound, is that clutch issue?

You can avoid that annoying knocking sound by preloading the tension on the drivechain before you throttle. Hold the brake (motor cutoff) and push the pedal to take up any slack then release the brake while continuing to pedal or throttle. I think that clunk sound is normal but It's probably best to avoid it whenever possible.

Sounds like you need to tighten your motor on again. its slipping a few cm down and slamming into your frame when you engage the throttle.

6 minutes of this was you undoing bolts... The other 58 seconds was the changing of the "clutch" as you call it.

Think how fast it'll go if we use a cordless drill to loosen and lightly tighten the bolts... 2 min task.

It lasts a long time...it does not ware like a car on a clutch. The way it breaks is by super powrful pedaling that most of us are not capable of.

@@markhill7743 Even still Luna prices are way to high. They would make more if they would lower their prices. Bike part should never cost more then car parts. I don't wan't to pay that much for someone to live in California. If they were smart they would move out of that state.

There is a huge problem here. This is not the BBS01/02. It is the BBSHD motor. So video is wrong.
