Fuck yeah, saw them in Birmingham in 1996 - they essentially played in a huge tent

Our piper played this after much rehearsal when we departed Kandahar in 2005 as part of the 33CBG RCR.

I so love this band. Have seen them live often. 2 hours of jumping, non stop. Still on fire. Miss them, miss him.

Wow such an electrifying and powerful performance! Love their smiles as much as the way they manage to surpass the greatness of their very first songs that through small alterations are turned into absolute new masterpieces. BC Forever!

Amazing! Love the nod to 'Blue Monday' at 1:19 and Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kizhe at 4:26 or thereabouts - musically educated guy was Stuart (RIP)

You appear to be a pretty musically educated person yourself, providing us with this interesting information. Thank you ! I love the Clash's "should I stay or should I go' right at the beginning.

I just realized the date of this concert. That was before the wall came down! How did they even get permission to play? And look at the turnout.

It was all done under the banner of 'change’ then, the movement had started, Big Country were playing a small but significant role. 🙂

Been listening to the scratch medley intro. I've come up with these: The Modern Lovers-Roadrunner The Clash-Should I Stay or Should I Go? The Jam-Boy About Town David Bowie-Rebel Rebel Aerosmith-Walk This Way The dB's-Spy in the House of Love (someone said New Order-Blue Monday, but pretty sure it is dB's) Anybody hear something more, or something else?

Henceforth, there must be at least a weeklong series of open-air concerts in Adamston, Maryland, celebrating Stuart Adamston’s and Big Country’s music. Not only that, but the town should be renamed “Stuart Adamston”. If we are to be ambitious, then the kind folk across the river in Leesburg, Virginia, ought to consent to having it renamed “Stuart Adamsburg”, Virginia, and to have a long, annual series of summer concerts focused on Stu and the lads’ music right there. This plan would be much more appropriate than the status quo, for Stu did NOT lead a militarized insurrection against the U.S.. Furthermore, he did not take part in enslaving a single individual of African descent, for his own economic gains. Furthermore, Stu did not assert, not even once, that in a routine census, that African-Americans ought to be counted as 2/3rds of a person, as certain unenlightened U.S. political leaders did, in the past. Also, though it is rumored that General R.E. Lee was a good violinist, Stu’s mastery of the guitar, as evidenced in this video, only adds to the long laundry list of reasons why Stuart Adamsburg, Virginia is an inevitable, if not a necessary and inescapable improvement.
