The policy Behind the B: changing the rules of the game for a new economy

It is highly impressive what the B Corp Movement has promoted in the last 15 years. Today, almost 5,000 certified B Corporations from over 150 industries mobilize more than half-million workers in 79 countries to build an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economic system.
However, that is not enough. We are constantly looking at ways in which we can empower all of the 125 million companies in the world* to behave like B Corps with the purpose of positive impact, accountability with all stakeholders and commitment with transparency by measuring, managing and reporting their impact?
During this session, an ecosystem event part of the Skoll World Forum wholly hosted by B Lab and Sistema B, we briefly discussed our global policy strategy to enable a favorable institutional environment for a new economy. We covered inspiring stories and practical cases that are happening across our global markets including the US, UK, Europe and Latin America. We clearly defined our focus to lead, promote and coordinate policies, regulations and self-regulation that foster the adoption of Stakeholder Governance - as we do not believe in stakeholder capitalism if we do not build benefit governance for businesses and capital markets.
And, finally, we highlighted that this journey is about building collaborations and coalitions that strengthen our social capital towards this another possible world, and we urged all organizations that believe in the power of policies to enable systems change to join us as backbone organizations to build infrastructure for such change.
