At the end of the day they are all here as friends and to have fun, all while creating interesting content for one another. Bdubs didn't intentionally mean to miss those words. He clearly thought he got them all and caught it in editing. It is an honest mistake. Having said that, bending the rules from time to time, or being a little more lax with some than others, can actually lead to an increase in fun along with creating more interesting content.... They self moderate so if there is an issue rest assured they will call each other out on it.

Oh they're definitely not random. Gem's was given to her specifically because she failed last time and incorrectly pressed success, and a lot of the others matched their histories/personalities. So the initial tasks seem to be assigned intentionally, but the re-rolls are probably random, since they don't know who will be going up.

Tango stops to talk to his imaginary friend when Pearl asks him for food, Pearl looks down at the food he gives her and immediately asks Etho for it since she can't pick it up, and Etho (despite agreeing to help Pearl with her task) says he doesn't eat fish, because his goal is to get someone else to fail their task. All of this with Bdubs just staring at them while his task is "completed", so he starts freaking out from all of it.

Conspiracy theory time: Bdubs success at the task, actually qualifies Etho as having succeeded at his. Etho's task was to "Figure out someone's task and prevent them from completing it." By repeating Bdubs Gen Z phrases, Etho unknowingly prevented Bdubs from completing his task satisfying the second condition. Second, although he thought he had successfully completed it by then, Bdubs did say what his task was afterwards to Etho. As such, by technicality, Etho did complete his secret task.
