As a person with permanent residency, I can tell you that you can't just pick up and move to Mexico so easily any more. The financial requirements are now huge. The fact that he did this several years ago and that he married a local made it much easier for him to remain in Mexico. If I had not gone for my residency a while back, I wouldn't be able to afford it now. Not to discourage anyone, but it's the reality of the situation. If anyone is thinking about residency in Mexico and has enough financials for the current requirements, I highly suggest that you go for it and not wait because the requirements go up substantially every year. Enjoyed the video!

Interesting, Mexicans can colonise America in the tens of millions illegally and be illegally granted citizenship by the banker backed politicians, but set one foot in Mexico and you better be ready to wait a long time, invest a lot of money and say "how high?" when they say "jump". "The most powerful country on earth" is literal a Cuckold.

I enjoyed your comment here , what I did not understand was what this man stated that an American expat who is retired and wants to reside in Mexico simply has to prove that they are indeed retired and then they will not be held to a high financial scrutiny as someone who is still working. Do you have any information on this or what the difference is if someone is retired and trying to qualify at some Financial level to get residency ?
@asinglewomanontheloose559011 ай бұрын
@@DavidVargas-qu8mf I have never heard about this. What they care about is your financial solvency. Your local consulate is the one that makes the decision. They also decide whether or not you get permanent or temporary. The requirements in my area were more lenient than a neighboring state. I am of retirement age but am still working so I wasn’t sure if that would be a problem. I have heard that they favor retirees with a good income which at this point is about $7,000 per month. I would apply as soon as possible regardless. It goes up substantially every year. A great video addressing this by Qroo Paul called “Can you afford to live in Mexico? “. Published 6 days ago. He keeps up on the latest info. Hope this helps.

Food, vet bills, flea n tick, heartworm , etc. I am obviously a gringo and if I am alone, I pay a gringo price. For anything big, my wife goes in and gets the price before anyone sees me. We don’t go out at night…just not our thing. We are up early, running all over town doing errands, home with our furbabies by supper time. We do eat out for breakfast and lunch often. We have our little local places that have wonderful food at LOW prices. Our breakfast spot costs $1.05 !

I'm planning on moving to Mexico and am working right now as a truck driver. How much money do you think I need to have saved up before I start to move? My partner is a Mexican national and we are in the process of opening a business, a " boutique" in Tabasco. The rent for the building was super cheap. $4000 pesos. We are going to sell used and new clothes. I am personally stocking the store up now. I'm preparing something for our future and also plan to open an English learning class for rural students. I'm asking for your advice because I just want to be better prepared. Hopefully one day i will buy property because we plan to get married. If I deduct rent for the store, deduct whatever I want to save for future purchase of land, and deduct price of a vehicle, how much do you think I would need to survive comfortably each month? Thx.

Depends on so many things. Alone? Or with partner? Kids? But, they’ve already told you you can live on 700-$1,000 usd per month. Cheaply but comfortably (by yourself). Add family members and it goes up somewhat. That’s the monthly - just money to make a move and have a “nest egg” for emergencies or to improve your situation (you might want to get a car or some fur y for example) - probably should have $5,000 to $ 15,000 in the bank - but it’s not absolutely necessary. It’s more about hVinh enough monthly. If you’re a truck driver in the US - you could live down here - go back up from time to time, make a few hauls and stick the money away to finance your dream - just don’t try to maintain a place up in US or you’ll go broke! Hahaha! If you are used to living on the road (that basic) I would think you’ll live way cheaper & certainly more healthy, probably more happy here in Mexico.
@Butfumanchu Жыл бұрын
OK reading more of your post -I understand a little more -you are a couple - she is MX National - if she didn’t become overly Americanized and dependent on supermarket frozen food and all the expensive conveniences of life in the USA, you’ll do well. Like Jose says, buy fresh, buy local, and cook at home. Live simple. Add convenience as you can better afford it. In your commercial rent don’t forget - electric bill - businesses pay higher rate here - and water, internet etc. Beware landlords - some are pretty shifty in MX and the “law” will not offer much help. Have a plan B. Teaching English to rural folks, will be lots of effort for very little revenue. But nice community service. Selling used clothes can work well, make sure one of you knows what they will buy. Being a licensed commercial driver in the USA is good security if you can jump back up and work for a month or two if you should need to - you should be OK and you have a good option f driving once in a while, if you should need to. New ideas and opportunities will occur to you.

It is good that living in Mexico gives you hope, but just as immigrants in the USA are asked to speak English and learn their customs, you must do the same in Mexico, and of course you must also pay taxes and regularize your immigration status, because of course, you feel prosperous, but they don't realize that they are generating gentrification, making it increasingly expensive for Mexicans to live.
@Butfumanchu Жыл бұрын
Most of that is not true at all. I know scads of Americas and Canadians who don’t speak Spanish. No one I know is paying any income taxes to Mexico, unless the have a business. And you are incorrect about the impact on the culture. Perspective: according to the Nex census of 2020 - there are only 212,000 foreign nationals (from ALL countries) in Mexico (with legal status) - meanwhile there are 18,000,000 Mexicans living illegally in the USA - please learn some facts before you impart bogus info or uniformed opinions.
@wendyannh Жыл бұрын
What causes gentrification with expats is many of them being too willing to pay too much for everything because it seems so cheap to them. When they understand and *follow* local pricing and customs, keep their eyes and ears open to what things *ought* to cost and refuse to pay the “gringo tax,” and live in real local neighborhoods rather than the expat enclaves, they don’t have that same impact. Of course, that’s probably nowhere near the majority of them, unfortunately.

if you know where to eat you can live in Mexico for 300 USD, but you have to choose a small town or if you go to big city you have to choose the low income neighborhoods that usually have crime and dangerous but if you become friend with a local they can teach you how to dodge it. Source: I'm Mexican, my family is middle income, I make good money but my mom and dad come from low income neighborhoods. The trick is to know the locals and who to avoid, always be friendly but you will have to learn to read the air/room in Mexican terms.

I have tried to get my adult kids to move there, One is a child care worker so she should have work most places and the other is an online rep for a big phone company so never goes into an office so she has the best job for travelling but they are scared of the gangs and crime and all the story's about cartel kidnapping people or people getting sent to jail for nothing. If I win the loto ill move and im sure they will follow but im 55 the clock's ticking

I remember that first apartment Jose did a video of 😊, I also remember his girlfriend feeding the chickens, maybe a new video of the chickens would be great 👍🏻 😊

This is something I’m considering doing as well. My family is from Mexico, and my mom is already thinking of going back there because life is much more simple, especially in the small town she grew up in Jalisco. I wouldn’t mind going to live there and I speak Spanish fluently as well.

What a beautiful place ! Love the bright red and white trim with the palm trees. Someone did a beautiful job on that place. Very, very nice! Love that kitchen area! The tile work is beautiful !

This is truly invaluable information. Thank you both for sharing this detail. Hearing José talk about his life and health scare experience is making me reconsider my life in the US. I supposedly have one of the best health benefits in the US but had some issues in 2022. My out of pocket expenses were almost $10,000. It's totally unreal. Keep up the great work gents and thanks again.

Big cities or even regular size cities in Mexico have good doctors and clinics and cheaper meds and if you live close to US border like in Baja you can access your US medical care too.

Two of my favorite you tubers on moving to Mexico! Jordon, question: I recently saw a video of yours on why you decided to move to Mexico. My husband and I live in the USA and are strongly considering a move to Mexico very soon, as his retirement is quickly approaching. Anyway, when you mentioned that one of the reasons you moved to Mexico was due to inflation, caused by printing money out of thin air (quantitative easing), I could not agree with you more. We're definitely on the same page! So, here's my question: I recently read that the countries of Latin America were going to be studying the CBDC (central bank digital currency). I know that Mexico is aligning itself with the BRICS countries that are dumping the dollar. Phase One of the CBDC is already being rolled out here in the USA and Putin, unfortunately, has announced that he will be introducing it soon. Holy Moly! We were keeping our fingers crossed that this wouldn't happen. Talk about losing your freedoms. It seems like there's nowhere you can go, except to Panama and Costa Rico on this one. Now, we are taking a hard look at relocating to Mexico, carefully weighing the pros and cons. Your thoughts? Jose? Thank you!

@@mabio98o yeah, just bought two bags of delicious meat jerky, for $20 at Walmart!! Just bought an antique butter turn off Facebook marketplace this past weekend for 60 bucks, last weekend I had a plumbing emergency for eight hundred and something dollars, the week before that I had an air conditioning emergency that cost me three hundred and something dollars, already paid off the air-conditioning bill, started paying on what I put on my credit card for the water emergency pay 250 on that this past weekend. I overpay on electric and water on purpose and I have extra money in each account to to $300 in each, I've got my mortgage paid ahead of time by 9 months. I only have thirty thousand left to pay on my house and then I have zero mortgage, only $4,000 left to pay on my car, then I will have no car payment, I should be completely debt-free in about 7 years. I will only have utilities and property taxes, property taxes are about $150 a month, oh and I can afford to eat crab legs and lobster tail as well, and I love my Heineken and Foster beer!!

..and you own your paid off home. I rent and live a mile from the beach and live and eat like a Rey for less than $1200us per month total. That includes everything I need and includes a maid, laundry service and health insurance.

Now I am subscribed to both of you guys. I am in Mexico and I am going to move soon to a smaller town and pay less kinda. I will be going from a 2 bd. 2 bth. furnished departamento to an unfurnished 2 bed 1&1/2 bath unfurnished. 6000 pesos to 4500 pesos… so I will have to buy some things to fill up the house. It is kinda scary buying stuff for a house that you don’t know you will like completely. I know the neighbor is not bad, there is a public library within a block, a restaurante in front of the house and laundry services and groceries store close by. I guess the major thing is having an empty house and costs to fill it with decent furniture that doesn’t cost a fortune. I might have to rely on the locals and maybe Facebook to find some things. I could go on and on talking but maybe one person has made it this far. Give me a thumbs up if you read all of this and thanks.

Jordan , that was a fantastic interview. Jose, congratulations!!!. I love your attitude. One question, you guys haven't talked about medical insurance . Does Jose have one? Or is everything out of pocket ? But what if God forbids a major medical incident occured ? That adds to the budget. Can you elaborate a bit on that ? Thank you
