@@EVsBeyond Do the twin electric motors feel like a 5.7 seconds 0-100 kph unit? Is it consistent with power delivery even when getting close to 25% of available battery and what does the little 1.5 litre turbo sound like as I’ve heard it being described as tinny or is the sound insulation enough. Possibly too many questions for the time you had with the pre production model however, I am thinking about placing a deposit on one. Especially if it’s consistently faster than the Raptor’s. As I don’t need more than 2,500 kgs of towing capacity (which both share). Cheers to your thoughts!

The 430hp power figures are only the electric motor power, if the motor assisted it would be even higher. The motor comes on to reduce maximum draw on the battery by running the generator if you floor it. So even if batteries at 80% and you smash the accelerator to the floor the generator starts to keep draw load at a near normal level.

In Mexico shark has a starting price for $53K equivalent for a midsize which is honestly a lot higher than I expected. I expected something in the $35K or at most mid $40K range (starting price of a Tacoma hybrid). Remember in Mexico a base Hilux starts at $20K equivalent while crew cab with diesel start at $30K or so BYD is twice as much Yet its towing and payload a lot less, no solid axle means it is never gonna be as off-road capable. It uses e-CVT rather than traditional torque converter automatic. Its 30kwh or so battery is stored not in the interior like the Wrangler 4XE or TNGA-F product but outside underneath the cab. So repairing and replacing on that battery will take longer and cost more money. Some of the biggest problem of the BYD DMO platform. This is not the game changer that some people hyped up to be

Plus adding the co2 required to make the cars battery ur on backfoot before car is even sold. Because BYD's PHEV models do not require a more complex transmission system, they have fewer parts than traditional ICE models and do not have a gearbox, resulting in lower energy consumption during the manufacturing process. In addition, the engine of this car has a much smaller displacement compared to similar vehicles, with much higher fuel efficiency. The vehicle's power is actually stronger than that of similar ICE vehicles, and it can also recover kinetic energy during downhill driving and braking. Ordinary users only use electric drive for about 90% of the time when using this type of PHEV, so the maintenance cycle is longer and the maintenance cost is lower. Doesn't matter as Triton never sue BYD, so why would you bother ? I would be happy if anyone could copy and make a product cheaper and better.
