Hello Jere! It is so much fun watching your videos, I really enjoy them, now I wanted to tell you that I have struggled with rust all along here and there and found the best way to keep my tools clean. Every now and then I just dip them in vinegar overnight and then I washed them with clean water and soda soap, scrubbing with a toothbrush and finally impregnate them with WD40 and you will notice the difference. Cheers!

Hello Javier: Thanks for the tip. I use PAM instead of WD 40. It has silicone in it and lasts a little longer. After I finish a few moor brackets for the Jeep I will be getting into nickle plating. I plan on bringing that whole process to You Tube. Not only will I be plating brackets but many of the tools I have made over the years. Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe. Jere

Hello Fernando: I just this morning put a link under the description that I forgot last night when I posted the video. Go to my web sight and click on "plans and DVD's" you will find the plans there. Go to my channel here on You Tube and click on videos. Look for "Radius turning tool" There are 3 videos. If you watch all three you will see how it is made and making concave and convex shapes. Thanks for watching. Jere

I cannot answer this question not knowing what kind of equipment you have. A lathe will get the job done with ease. Jere

@Jere Kirkpatrick sorry I didn't say that I don't have a lathe or mill right now I have a 6ft drill press in storage I need to bring home. Just wondering if you thought a step bit would do one or two before it would be toast. I could live with 2 bits @35.00 ea for 4 bead roller dies. A couple tipping dies I welded a piece of D.O.M tubing and a ste screw and they'll work without the end screw on the pextow

@@assholeextraordinaire3699 My Pexto dies don't have threads. They use a nut like my larger bead roller. I would anneal, drill, and then re heat treat the dies in order to save the wear and tear on the drill. Jere

What material is being used to fabricate the dies? I might have missed it in the video.

I've used everything from a Cummings piston pin to mild steel flat washers. If the dies are to be used on steel they are heat treated, for aluminum they are not. The two dies I made for the Pontiac kick plates were made from hot rolled plate. If you look at the "kick plates" videos you will see them being made. Jere

Quick quarantine question, are you going to give out rough dimensions for these dies or only in purchased plans? And do you think if you have the set of flat washers the "flame dies" are necessary? Thanks for your vids.
@jerekirkpatrick2092

Hello Tony: As far as dimensions are concerned the diameter of the die should be so that the center line of the shafts are parallel (or as close as possible) when the dies are at working depth. The feature that you want to impart into the work piece will give you the dimensions of the outer portion of the die. The flame dies have a recess for the bolt that holds the die to the shaft. this is a nice feature when tipping to a full 90deg. If you have the 45deg. die that obstruction (bolt) is no longer a problem. I hope this is helpful for you. Great question and thanks for watching. Jere

Hi Jere, I get the impression that dies are a "need as you go" response to a particular project. I've not finished to mod's on my beader so don't have enough experience to know what I need. And my future projects are not car related so it might be most of your custom dies might not have an application to what I'm doing. I think you mentioned that clearance problem in your vid, sorry. Sometimes in short vids there's so much info it bounces off :) But this reinforces my idea of possibly using a counter sunk Allen bolt for my die retainer. Still got other projects before I can get back to finishing my beader. Thanks for your vids and great content.

@@tonypires8816 You are correct. you wont know what die you will need until you know what the panel requires. You make them as needed. You can also use the dies that came with the machine as stock to make your specialty dies. Seldom will you use a stepping die. Look at my last video and you will see the way I hold the dies to the shaft. Great questions. Jere
