Thanks for coming back to the washers Jere. And also working with machines we can afford. Look fwd to the next installment. I just got done making a ball turning attachment inspired by your design. Works great.

Hello Tony: You will like the next installment. I'll be using the washers in different combinations to create totally different profiles with with the same washers. The 3rd video will be on different dies I have made and some of them were made using the ball turning tool. Thanks. And stay tuned. Jere

Yup, it's why I made the ball turner after watching your vid on making beader dies. I also wanted to make dies for the planisher, forming dollies and for making radiused heads for plastic faced hammer. It would be impossible to make any of this stuff without the ball turner.

I've been thinking about this idea of yours since I first watched it. I see it as an unlimited and cheap hobby die set. Hardened washers are available for a bit extra. Another option is to make washers of custom thicknesses from plate (holesaw job even), washers made of Bisalloy would last for yonks. I recently end up with a used Bramley Jenny with only a partial die set, your various videos on making dies will be invaluable . I had no idea just how versatile these machines are. I actually only bought it and some other items as a way to help fund my local Makerspace. Thanks a heap for the effort and though that goes into your videos.

Hello Mike: Yes your idea of using hole saw drop outs is a good one. I have used them many times plus punch press drop outs. The hardness of the dies would be based on whether you are working with aluminum of steel and how many pieces are going to be made. You will be having a good time showing the people at your Makerspace the dies you have made and what can be done with the machine. Thanks for watching. and the comment. Jere

Another great video, it'll be easy enough to make a few of these washers when I get a rotary machine/crimper.

Good stuff, Jere. Can't wait for the next one. The arthritis has been bad in my hand this week so I never was able to do anything for the series... hard being human

Hi Rocker: I watched both of your QQ videos yesterday...well done. You, as I, found out that it was a good idea in theory but not in practice. Lets keep making them but use a title that runs parallel to the theme of the video. They can be found more easily. Thanks for watching and keep making your great videos. Jere

Jere, I've been tipping fender flairs this week with my bead roller and "Jere washer"! So I'm building a tube chassis, mid engine Karmann Ghia and thinking about trying to make the front hood out of some 3003 ally. Here's the thing, it has what I can only describe as a diminishing bead down the center of the hood. That is at the front it's 10mm tall X 8 mm wide and over it's length towards the windscreen it gets shorter and narrower until it disappears, about 800mm long. I've been racking my little brain on how to do this, any clues?

Wouldn't just easing off on the upper roller tension as you go achieve this effect? BTW my first car was a '57 Ghia and my second was a '65 Ghia. Wish I still had them especially the '57.

Hello Alanmony: You have inspired me to do a quickie on that subject (diminishing bead). I will be adding it to my list of vieios to make. I will also be showing a die that will help with tipping using a flat washer. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching. Jere
