Insects don't have sweat glands, nor do they have a frontal lobe, hypothalamus, hippocampus, amygdala or limbic cortex with which to feel nervous or even anticipate events unfolding. They only flee when light changes too suddenly. It's an autonomic response, like your heart beat. I'm always happy to ruin your joke with deadpan scientific explanations. :)

I've been on camping trips. NEVER needed to drink my own urine. The situation where a grown man NEEDS to drink his own urine to survive is such a rare one even in the extremes Grylls puts himself in, that the only excuse for him doing it more than once is that he enjoys doing it. Respect the wild sure. But if he can't figure out how to keep water handy when he's standing next to a mountain stream with the president, (he asked Obama if he'd like to drink urine later), the man has issues.

What a humble man.. He's been in situations where most of us can't even last for minutes. I remember seeing Man vs Wild and thinking we have no right to be arrogant about anything; we are just too fragile. You can slip and fall to your death, the smallest insect can kill us in minutes if not seconds. I think everyone should spend time in nature because it is one of the great teachers
