Emil Vasilcin Yes, lets keep poverty and the problems that exists just because countries dont help other countries.
@TheVasilcin10 жыл бұрын
Christopher Bergsten are you saying that creating a single government would solve this, because if i look at my own country there are still those with more money than others. And competition is what drives innovation, there's a reason there was a tech boom in the 20th century,
@ChristopherBergsten10 жыл бұрын
True, is tech over welfare though? Without having the same laws, minimal wages etc etc,, work places will go overseas and your country will fail just for trying to make it a better place for the workers etc, but the owners wants numbers which can be achieved in another country with different laws.. Not saying it will solve it, but if you do it right, it could.

I'm from Glasgow Scotland, I was married at Luss Church on Loch Lomond Scotland in 2013 we had a bagpiper learn this and he played it for when cars arrived... It was the last time my whole family were together, my brother lives in Australia and really the last time we were altogether was in 2019 when my dad was on a ventilator and we were told essentially he was already brain dead. We battled to keep him on vent until my brothers flight landed. They switched his vent off 30mins after my brother arrived at the hospital. This is why I say that my wedding in 2013 was the last time we were all together. Amazing tune but it makes me cry every time now...

the fact that adama didnt get his happily ever after still breaks my heart. the fact that roslin died right as they were finding a place to settle down and the last we see of hime he is talking to her grave about how he is building the life he wanted for both of them is such a tragic ending

I hated that so frakking much. After all he went through he lost both of his ladies. They could've at least let him have a few years with Laura before the cancer got her. It's honestly the one thing I would've changed about the ending.

CMDR Fencer94 - Galactica gave me almost everything I have today, damn it.. we need galactica now the way the world is. it came at a good time.. but it maybe it would have been better to be on TV now, teach humanity to unite in the face of terrible odds.. before galactica I had no purpose, star trek ended, I lived alone for many years.. just nothing there.. then I got sucked into the story of galactica, she gave me hope and a feeling id never felt before.. I too hold a job for many years now because of it.. seems almost a world away.. ive not brushed off the DVDs in quite some time.. if this pandemic and chaotic world needs something.. its galacticas spirit.. im sure we're a large group of people this show and its music saved

All good things have to have an end otherwise they will become mundane and uninteresting. Surely i would have loved to get another season, maybe anderson would have missed the sun and kept patroling the solar system and before the fuel would have completely been depleted he would have (maybe crash-) landed the grand old lady on the far side of the moon for future generations to rediscover and learn from the mistakes that have been made.

And I think the answer to Adama's question on why humanity deserves to survive is our willingness to survive and to even sacrifice our own survival so others will live on. That, I think, is defiantly something this show has told us. Yeah there are definitely some crazy, evil people out there, but our willingness to against those people and how we fight for survival and freedom is what grants us the right to survive and leave a mark in the universe. It's only a few notes, but this song brings up such emotions in me. I only 'discovered' bsg about a year ago. This music is so sad and yet so beautiful and haunting. I cried during the finale. A lot. That doesn't happen often, but especially the scenes of Adama looking over to see that Roslin has finally passed away makes me weep like an infant. My mother is currently fighting Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and she has only a few years left at best. And honestly I think it's going to kill me.

FIrst of all, let me say "welcome" to a long roster of BSG fans, young, old, ancient, recent. Secondly, please accept my heartfelt empathy for your situation with your mother. In your shoes, that whole "building the cabin" scene up to and including Adama building the cairn would have utterly destroyed me. I feel you. Know that. I also know how it is to be moved by music. Please, please feel free to reply privately if you need a friend.

For the creators, writers, and producers of this BSG to make it Better was a big task. The past BSG was like positive that they WERE going to find earth. This one was kind of like: "What the Frak do we have to pay in order to get to Earth?" So say we all.
@martintheiss7436 жыл бұрын
One of the creators later told a USC class of thematic cinema writers that he was approached about creating a reboot for BSG and as part of his decision process he watched the pilot for the original show a few months after 9/11 and as an American he felt very disturbed about the similar feelings he got after 9/11 watching a society get massacred for no clear political reason. He later on commissioned his own one year show which was based on the theoretical backdrop of a major city in the Colonies 60 years before his nuking took place.

Mankind is flawed and the error is getting bigger with each generation being raised by ill souls - estimation for now is sixty percent of all the living are in need of therapy due to childhood trauma. This amount will get critical and typically ends in new wars making things even worse. Bad living conditions being reintroduced over an over. No escape. Someone wrote somewhere... happiness is the absence of sufficient information.

Without a doubt my favourite Space opera series out there. I know some will mention SG and The Expense, and they are perfectly right, those have many qualities, but this one is the only one to which I willingly came back after watching it years ago. I'm in love with its deep human dimension. A friend of mine was disturbed by the religious aspect of the series, but not me, I love it all. I suffered with them, I rejoiced with them, and when the series was finished...I authentically felt like saying goodbye to long known friends...but that's me being hyper-sensitive and then feeling things too far, too strong, too much. So I fully understand those who may prefer other series over this one, but to me it's clearly the best. And I'm not a tv show devourer so maybe this does explain that. well deserved success back then. Only regret : to not have bought the whole boardgames series from FFG back when it was possible.

Battle for the Tylium Asteroid is one of the best episodes of that show, or maybe any show. All the emotions, ups and downs. I love it!

Every time I hear this song, I think of that touching father/son scene right before Adama leaves to liberate the people trapped on New Caprica.

Loved the Irish style on the song. The series also makes more homenages to Ireland, with ships called Olympic and Adriatic. Both Belfast Built White Star Line ships in reality. They just missed Titanic.

This isnt Irish, its a Scottish Tune

If one wants to be really specific it's American, as the composer is Bear McCreary is American. His family name, McCreary is from Northern Ireland, so, the reason for me to say it's Irish in style, what i still think so. Go back a few hundred years and call it Celtic, so it includes all.

Not to mention that the "theme' is taken from a song with Irish Gaelic lyrics.

Sigue siendo una de las mejores series que se ha hecho nunca. Y este tema es especialmente memorable, como el personaje al que rinde homenaje.

Great Song... the drums and bagpipes(I think they are?) and the whole melody evoke a Braveheart esque atmosphere, of loss and goodbyes, fighting against impossible odds but also of hope. Love it.
