I was a pupil there from 1960-1966. Infants, kitchen and dining hall on the lower floor and juniors on the upper floor. Rooms with fireplaces and loos were the head teacher's office and the staffroom. It was really light and airy unlike the overflow annexe in a Victorian school a couple of streets away.

Used to love going up on the roof and drinking with my mates back in the day when it was summer, the views you get are amazing

Next corridor had one classroom each for years 3, 4 and 5. Stuff beyond the doorway was off limits, in our day. Some of the graffiti is really cool. The funny thing is elms probably would have loved having community stuff like that, back in the day!

The ground to the school seems quite big for what it is heard there are potential plans for demolition now I believe

Lovely school, ks2 upstairs ks1 downstairs, and when i was there there was a nursery with tractor tyres lol i was there when miss smith was headteacher and miss padam lol always using her eyedrops, And if anybody was there when i was. Can you remember sitting in the hall and that disable guy in a special adapted chair used too tell stories lol. But yeah iv visited since it was closed down basements flooded and bill, bless him his house is overgrown.

Ex student here! Left in 2002. Slowly watching through. You started off in the sports/assembly hall, then the first classroom was year 6, the next room was staff room (which is extra weird bc I went back and did work experience there!). Room with shutter was ye olde IT room. We used to save our work onto personal floppy discs and we didn't have the Internet. Times, man.

School is split over two levels because its built into hillside. Key stage 1 (up to year 2) would enter from the lower floor playground and never need to go upstairs, while key stage 2 (year 3-6) entered from the upper floor playground and only went downstairs for lunchtime!

Yes this surprised me the way and layout of the building and then when we found that secret cupboard with the steps which were used to higher the building

There is a planning appication in consideration for 66 residential dwellings (mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom houses). Council indicated sometime ago they would be seeking a sale for possible development. Fully expect this will go through.

Went here today and lemme say the people have absolutely ruined the place. trash everywhere and so much more, due to what I heard the reason why the school shut down was because of the poor enrollment, there was only 10-15 people in classes. And on top of that other schools in in st Ann’s were opening up such as sycamore primary school, st Ann’s well academy and Huntington academy. They had no choice but to close down

I remember when the floor panels were off so you could go underground and in the boiler room! and the head masters office was open and there was a lift and stuff we used to play hide and seek around it

Oh yeah for sure. I left before the school got closed down, which from what I've heard was due to poor SATS results or something like that. I always assumed the building got repurposed or something but apparently not. Thanks so much for the video! Enjoyed that good old kick of nostalgia, even if the place does look very different now.
