Hi, Bearz G. I have been watching you fishing for awhile. I’m about to in San Diego on the 19Th September visiting my daughter down there. She’s in the Navy. I’m from Minnesota Nationality is HImong. Is September is a good time to fish? What’s biting right now? I’m planning not to bring to much lures. I don’t do enough saltwater fishing, but seen you guys catching makes me so excited. Good luck fishing and be safe…hope to ran into you and see you fish.

Excellent information. When have you found the most success fishing the bays? Is it on the incoming tide, outgoing tide, peak high/low tide? Or does it not matter and the key is water movement? Thanks.

Great vid love the focus on interchangeability keeping it sweet n simple. I've been in the harbor game for over 20yrs only big baits now a days! Zman streakz 5" Texas rigged 3-4/0 wide gap 👍 bait will tail up and sway in the current on the stop and one bag last a long time! Best color "THE DEAL" "HOUDINI" "RED BONE".

Very good info! Do you cast and retrieve with the bait going with the tide or against the tide.

I cast opposite of the tide so the tide can do the work.

Pretty much use every one of these techniques. Some advice from my experience would be change your treble hooks on the lucky craft jerk baits. Bigger fish will straighten your hooks. Also I use the mosquito hooks too, but have been having issues with straightening hooks lately on bigger halibut and bat rays. Might be looking for a stronger drop shot hook here soon.
@BearzG6 жыл бұрын
I have never had to change my hooks on my lucky crafts unless they rust out and thats very rare. Ive hooked onto 70lb batrays with LC before along with many 30lb to 50lb rays. Never had an issue. Then again not all products are perfect.
@JoseSanchez-fu9cy6 жыл бұрын
joshbertrand What type of hooks would recommend? Been using the Lucky Crafts up here in the Bay Area for stripers and the hooks have been straightening. The stock hooks haven't been a problem for spotties and perch in SD.... just these stripers up here have been bending the crap out of these hooks.
@joshbertrand6 жыл бұрын
Jose Sanchez I’ve changed out all my hooks with Hayabusa standard treble TBL930. I use size 4 or 6, depending if I run 2 hooks or 3 hooks.
@joshbertrand6 жыл бұрын
Bearz G. Don’t get me wrong the hooks are good and all but I’m rather safe than sorry. Worst thing that can happen is you straighten your hook on a personal best fish and watch it swim away. Maybe I’ll see you around some time. San Diego local and fish constantly fresh and saltwater.

Great video, as always. I see you don’t use weedless set ups. Don’t you get hung up on the weeds?
@girabaldytasty62246 жыл бұрын
If you watch him fish he pops it out of the grass. If your fishing weeds keep your rod tip up and time the fall of the bait and pop it back up before it sinks to deep into the weeds. You can also use a texas rig wich I really like, and he fishes it with a grub in some videos.
@girabaldytasty62246 жыл бұрын
But with bay fishing bass aren't super smart and thier fun because thier not to hard to catch. If your having trouble with weeds just fish a texas rig or fish a weedguard swimbait. I don't think that one works better than the other I just don't use swimbaits like bighammer or mc much, for fishing eel grass beds.
