Toriyama's exact words were "Gohan is actually stronger than anyone...or so it's said, but lately he hasn't really gotten a chance to shine. Yes, Beast is very powerful, but not even Toriyama confirmed whether or not he was stronger than Goku at this point. He inferred towards this. It was his plan to make the series shine on two characters he loved the most. He loves piccolo and wanted Gohan to take up the mantle his father left behind originally. This movie and the Manga gave way to let them stand in the light, but no matter what anyone says in the end Toriyama has always made Goku and Vegeta stronger. And if you take into account that Gohan doesn't ever train like he should and Goku and Vegeta and Broly do, he will one day be outclassed again. He might be up there now, but soon enough he won't. Instead of being salty who is right or wrong, be glad we got to see what Toriyama intended for his cast of characters in this current arc. And carry on with the journey as they continue to develop until the Manga is finished. Either they will respect the desire of Toriyama at heart and make Gohan and Piccolo among the strongest, or it will continue with Goku and Vegeta at the top. And if it does go that way, don't be salty. Gohan didn't earn the vast majority of his power, he literally picks up buffs mid game and runs down mid like a crackhead. I like Gohan, but it's true. When xeno goku was fighting demigra, demigra destroyed the timeline xeno goku was in, and xeno goku rebuilt the entire timeline in it’s entirety in base form, in DBH heroes timelines are infinite and contain an infinite amount of multiverses, and xeno goku rebuilt this timeline in his base form. The beginning of the fight it seems that Vegeta assumes that Gohan is stronger than Goku, yet the skill wielded with ultra instinct, was making the fight at the beginning go in Goku's favor. This is why Vegeta says Goku's experience, and Ultra instinct, were tilting the battle in his favor. Then everyone is shocked when Gohan powers up further with his rage, and uses it to overcome the speed gap. Gohan clearly has more raw power. Vegeta's speech at the beginning of Super hero arc, is about not just having more power, but using it more efficiently, and controlled. This chapter was focusing on that as well. Beerus talks about control. Experience can make a difference.

Goku fans coping is too funny. Here's what literally happened: They were evenly matched on the chapter the fight started, both were clearly holding back. On the next chapter Goku powers up (people tend to forget he powered up before Gohan) and at that point Gohan can't hit Goku anymore, and Goku lands many hits. Then Gohan powers up and starts completely overwhelming Goku's UI and eventually hits him twice with the 2nd hit knocking him out of UI. Goku is a bit damaged, but he's able to go back to UI without much effort. Goku glances a Broly and decides tp stop because its a good opportunity for Broly to train. So a lot of people are saying "Gohan went full power while Goku was holding back", well the DB official website literally states that both were fighting at full power, so there's that. And the conclusion here is quite simple, Gohan is stronger than Goku, but it's not by a large margin, and Goku can make up the difference with skill, so who would win? I think it could go either way, in this spar I think Gohan could've won if he followed up the punch that knocked Goku out of UI. But in general I genuinely think it can go either way.

Then, when Gohan got his big hit in, the one ppl act like he absolutely devastated Goku with, Goku got right back up and got right back into mui, AND Gohan missed 100 times before landing that shot AND was tired after he landed that one hit. After this, the next big thing we see is Goku swatting Gohan away then calming him down in order to have Gohan fight Broly. So, half of the fight was even. The other half shows Goku having the upper hand most of the time. We have statements of strength for both characters. We see both showing effort, but it is clearly shown that Gohan used more effort as well. With all that being said, the best conclusion would be to say that they are relatively even, but due to Goku’s experience, skills and defense, he’s more likely to win a full out fight.

It's crazy that the meme about dragon ball fans is true. They can't read. It's wild. Gohan would have lost that fight. Gohan may have more power at his disposal in that form, but he isn't winning that fight. He had to push it that far to get a hit off. That's not a good indicator of your chances in general against an enemy when it takes nearly everything you have to land a blow fast enough that they can't dodge it. You know who actually knocked tf out of Goku in UI? Frieza. Gohan surprised him, he didn't knock him out of it. Goku dropped the transformation and let him train with Broly. Just like Goku may be stronger but Vegeta always beats Goku, Gohan isn't ready for the levels of smoke Goku will throw. And no one ever states Gohan is the strongest at any point. You take moments in a Manga and Movie and say, "Yup. Seems legit. Hail the new king." Toriyama never said he made Gohan stronger. It's never stated in the Manga that Gohan is the strongest saiyan. Which Gohan did go all out against Goku and did use his full power, considering that Gohan powered up to unleash his full rage to use his full power against Goku. Which Gohan was capable of landing two hits on Goku as a result. However a misconception a lot of Gohan fanboys try to make is the claim that Gohan knocked Goku out of Ultra Instinct. Which this can be debunked and countered by the fact that Goku immediate got right back up and went straight back into Ultra Instinct in less than 30 seconds. Which Goku has never gotten back up against an opponents that was trying to beat him after getting knocked out of Ultra Instinct. For example, in the Manga, during the Tournament Of Power ARC, Goku got knocked out of Ultra Instinct by Jiren due to him not have perfected and completed Ultra Instinct at that time, therefore reached his limit and tapped out when Jiren landed his attack on him and during the Moro ARC, when Moro stomped Goku out of Ultra Instinct Sign, which was the strongest transformation Goku could access at will during that fight thanks to him have completed and perfected Ultra Instinct Sign during the Moro ARC and since Goku wasn't able to tap into Ultra Instinct again until the final fight with Moro, Goku stayed down after Moro knocked Goku out of Ultra Instinct Sign and during the Granola ARC, when Granola one shotted Goku out of Ultra Instinct, Goku stayed down and lost the fight, same thing happened with Black Frieza when Black Frieza one shotted both True Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta at the same time and knocked them both out of their transformations, Goku and Vegeta stayed down. Gohan is conceptually stronger as against cell max he proved no challenge to gohan and as a result gohan basically one shot him. This is the same cell max that was CONFIRMED to be a little weaker than broly going all out. And the only person who could beat a full power broly at the time was and still is gogeta. With this being said goku is NOT stronger than a full power broly and he doesn’t even come close to gogeta in terms of power. So again broly > gohan > cell max > goku and vegeta. (I whole heartedly believe vegeta is also stronger than goku in terms of raw strength and endurance)

Gohan is indeed stronger than MUI Goku. You can not hold back or lower your power in a Technique, you can do it in a form but not a technique. This is a common misconception, but no, if Goku decided to lower his power/focus during the battle, he would've "transformed" back into the Sign state since that's how Ultra Instinct works. You can control the Defensive and Offensive parts of the technique in MUI state but can not lower them or disable them since those are the key parts of MUI. "But he started using auto dodge later! How did he do that if he can't disable and enable them?" As I said, he can control that due to the mastery over them, he doesn't lower or disable them, he controls whether or not the auto dodge should do its thing, his mastery over his mind is the supporter of this. If you try to lower your power, that would mean Goku would have to focus less on the technique. That's how Ultra Instinct works. And if he does that, he will turn into Sign state since he's not focusing on the Offensive part anymore and on something else. That's also why TUI exists, Goku stopped focusing on his Offense and focused on utilizing his feelings and bring them into the equation of his Ultra Instinct. You all gotta stop portraying Manga Ultra Instinct as a transformation. It's a technique that doesn't directly increase your strength nor power but gives you a better control over your Ki by making you focus on yourself. If you mess up even a single part of this, your control over your Ki will go away faster than ever. We seen this process of mastery in the anime, at first Goku was learning the power, then he learned the fact that he has to control himself and focus on the objective and nothing else, so he did. In his fight with Jiren, during Whis' speech, we saw Goku's pov of the fight, just him and jiren, nothing else but the matter. After that, he masters the Technique in their 3rd confrontation, and he completely utilizes Ultra Instinct. The reason why he "detransformed" was because of the dense Ki he harnessed within himself, not the power, but the dense and intense Ki he had gathered and put into a form. His body couldn't take more due to the intensity. As for Gohan's case, Gohan has the same thing going on, but the only difference is that Gohan doesn't have to focus to harness Ki or make it dense. He can simply harness Ki by his emotions. He can do this process until he goes Berserk. That is something due to his amateur nature on the form. Gohan had never been a good person at controlling his emotions, so that's something he should fix over time. Gohan can overpower the auto dodge of the Ultra Instinct, and that's "post-activation" Goku. Gohan would've won against Goku, and that wouldn't be much. In holding back case, Gohan is technically the one holding back since if he decided to go berserk, that would've been different due to Saiyan Rage Boost, which was why SSJ2 Gohan was powerful.

Vegeta said that they all, him goku and all the enemy they have face including freeza, is all on the same ground when it comes to physical power. The only thing that makes a difference right now is the way they wield their power. This line right here seems to be the main theme of the whatever arc we gonna get after the hiatus. If Vegeta words is correct, and Gohan is not stronger than Goku in term of raw strength. Beast only put Gohan on par on them, but it's the way Gohan wields his power that going to be the deciding factor of who's stronger. Maybe its a power that comes from external (technique) vs the power that's come naturally from within (transformation) type of beat. Which one is easier to wield effectively, and which one is the best path to grown in strength. This holds some weight to it because we have Freeza, Gohan, and Brolly on the side of naturally gifted warriors. While we have Goku, Vegeta, and potentially Beerus on the side of externally gained power since the three of them depends on their technique and experience to reach their current level of power. Why did i include beerus in this? Well, we have yet to know anything about beerus past, so we don't know whether Beerus race is a race gifted with power. What we know for sure is that he has lived for millions of years, so assuming his strength came from rigorous training and experiences just like Goku & Vegeta is a fair assumption. Or, there is also the Ultra Ego technique he teaches Vegeta. What if just like Whis, Beerus always in that state so he grows passively over times, thus making his power came from external source, not gift of heritage. So, it doesn't make sense for the story to just immediately scrap this line since Vegeta include Freeza, who was able to one shot Goku and Vegeta unlike Gohan. But whether this theory, or hypothesis, is correct or not i just want to see Cooler and SSJ4 Brolly becomes canon. Goku never said that, link me something showing that he says this. On the other hand the official DB website literally stated that they were both going full power, and people forget that Goku also powered up before Gohan did, and that was when Gohan couldn't hit Goku anymore, until Gohan also powered up and knocked UI out of Goku.

@@Mirlean he did power up, when he started slowly floating with his eyes closed, he was literally concentrating for his UI. And I genuinely don't see how what he said to Vegeta means he didn't go all out, just means he doesn't care about finishing the fight to see who'd win. I'll say again, the official DB website clearly stated in their summary that both were fighting at full power, but I guess people just like ignoring that part.

I think it’s less of Gohan’s stronger than Goku, and more, He’s approaching that. In just a single awakening he managed to obtain a form that could be implied to rival MUI. Gohan, though he trained with Piccolo when he could, not only didn’t have God Ki but didn’t have the same divine training Goku and Vegeta got. But as we can see he has potential that, despite not being divine, can more than definitely reach that level if he manages to train hard enough. We know Gohan’s latent potential exceeds that of his Father’s he just needs to be able to use it.
