Well to be honest i wouldn't bet on it, in the novel one of the Fremen killed him, and Denis Villeneuve wanted to stay true and faithful to the novel, if this happens, it will be a nice role reversal of Drax not getting his revenge or a rematch against Thanos, so it's only fair for Thanos unable to get his revenge on Drax

​@@tovolume yes, the book heavily implies that not Gurney killed Rabban, because Gurney is angry when Paul doesn't allow him to fight against Feyd (the only Harkonnen who was alive in the end). He wanted revenge, but it seems he didn't meet with Rabban that's why he was fustrated. Also, somehow Stilgar knew Rabban was dead, because he told it to Paul. Probably really the Fremen killed him

But I think Gurney killing Rabban isn't impossible in the upcoming movie. Villeneuve changed Liet Kynes ' death scene too. They also have a backstory, and Gurney wanted revenge in the novel too. And the novel doesn't go to details about Rabban' s death - though it suggests the Fremen killed him/simply died in battle. In this version, I think Villeneuve simply would remove the whole Gurney - Paul debate about who would have to fight against Feyd. Gurney gets his revenge and won't be mad at Paul.
