You're getting almost 1k points in this box. It's great if you're just getting into the faction, too, because all of these units are great/playable in the current meta. The ONLY unit that is a miss in this set is the Painboss. Another unit of squighogs to make a squad of 6 for the Nob, add some gretchin for CP generation, and you've got a really viable 1k list.

I found the painboss quite viable if youre running BBS or Mozrog, as he heals 3 wounds per turn on a Beast Snagga Character. chuck him with 10 Snagga Boyz in a trukk, and he is a mobile field station that can keep up with the squigosaurs. makes them nigh on unkillable, as the opponent has to chew through T10 5++ 4+++, only for 3 wounds to be regenerated.

Big Mek keepin’ the Orks Boyz Fed! Good deep dive and thank you for including the Combat Patrol Synergy, I will probably skip this one because I am 900 points into a Blood Axe army that’s very CP integrated. Good rating system New intro - outro with the bloopers as a “secret track” is awesome!

Im not much for playing 40k sadly cuz Im alone in my area with it.. but I LOVE painting the minitures. This set had me at hello as soon as I saw it and I said if this is around 200 bucks It's a freakin win... and BAM $230 is a no brainer. Even for someone who doesnt get to play this box will really add into my collection so nicely, and the models in this box look so good. I have painted 4 warboss on squigs already for commissions so Im glad to get to have my own finally lol

I liked building the Beast snaggas a lot more than the mono pose boys, the sculpts are really good.

If you have the Boarding Patrol then this box have some synergies with the boarding patrol Beast Snagga Boyz and Kommandos.

I skipped out on that Boarding Patrol since I bought the kill team Octarius set and got hold of an old metal Snikrot, so I was pretty much buying duplicates by that time.

Yes, the new codex always comes with new models! It's the most exciting time for the army.

You think the leading mechanics will change with a codex? So that ork bosses can lead units of a different type? I am a fairly new player so don’t know how that worked prior to 10th.

Not likely, no. If anything there might be new units that can be led (like Beast Snagga Grots) and/or new leaders, but the actual mechanics won't change. The Combat Patrol Warboss in Mega Armor will likely only ever lead things in Mega Armor.

This is the best value box i agree, at least for 40k. Sadly its on par with the average of what GW did for battleforces back when they were casually near 1k point or above. These boxes could have included one more unit to satisfy the $230 price. Even if it was just the basic troop unit, minus tyranids who could have used an elite unit. However at that point these would have costed $250 and thats half way to $500 which is how people would have saw this and been disgusted If I were starting Orks it would be with these guys as I actually prefer this aesthetic over the traditional machinery and mechs of the Orks. 2 boxes would make so much sense, theres dual options for every unit and that makes this box just as valuable.

The year 2000 Boxed Armies (nowadays Battleforce equivalent) were $200 and the Ork one included 8 units/45 models. That's $357.48 today! Inflation is inflation and it's made *everything* cost more, and adjusted for inflation, GW is around the same price, and in some cases cheaper, than it's ever been. There are winners and losers of every value box release, but this year's are honestly trending back the right direction with both a large and in-demand model to centerpiece each one and a healthy amount of discount.

@@DaRedWunzGoFasta holy crap! 45 models, omg thats a half a year project haha. GW obviously being around as long as it has is no stranger to inflation Im sure. Being at the same price or what would be seen as something cheaper in this type economy for GW I think has casted a cloud over what other companies have been doing which is giving the same product but reducing the amount of product you get. Being a bit of a fat ass here, I rememeber the days when things like snack cakes, little debbies and what not were much larger and cheaper around the same price as today. Thye have now been reduce in size slowely overtime without the general consumer knowing and its then business as usual. The same can be seen for things like health products, medicine, etc. I do agree I like the use of a large centerpiece in these boxes, its very attractive indeed, as last years Death Guard and Thousand Sons boxes sold out immediately. I assume the World Eaters box will as well. On top of that, all of these boxes are the more recemt offers from GW like you said and thats no coincidence as we have reached that point in GW's lifetime where they are half way through the transition of more evolved modeling and sculpting and I think 10th edition will explode with even more new models, especially the Xenos races

Can you play combat patrol rules with this stampede? Or do you really need the combat patrol box as well? (Newbie here)

That's a great question! The short is answer is no, you can't. Combat Patrol is a specific game style that requires the units in the Combat Patrol boxes (hence the name), and they end up having their own datasheets for us in Combat Patrol only. The long answer is, Games Workshop is releasing new Combat Patrols with every codex, and the Ork Codex is the one after the next (Dark Angels) and is due out early next year. Smart money says that a Beastsnagga Combat Patrol is likely! Either way, this box is a super great deal if you're looking to start an army.

The holiday boxes are always produced at their best guess numbers and then that's it because they need to be in stock for the holidays.

@@DaRedWunzGoFasta I get that but like a lot of other hobbies specially tcgs they usually have like a second run after they sold everything for a little bit longer but they aren't "1st edition" so it doesn't ruin them financially lmao but they give everyone else who missed out chance to get it and it's usually a half or a quarter of the first batch. Figured GW could do that, as leviathan did pretty good for a limited quantity batch and theres nothing "holiday" special or theme holding it back

Funny, I’m doing my Beast Snaggas in a Mad Max style since they feature mechinical arms and such. And their savage look really fits with the theme if you ask me. Plus the kill rig just screams Immortan Joe’s War rig. Plop that Goff Rocker on top and you’ll be blasting your way to Valhalla shiny and chrome. Witness the waaaghsomeness!!

Great question and yes you can! In 10th Edition all units besides named characters can be taken up to 3 times, so you can even get another one if you want. If you want to try a different unit though, converting one from a Painboss to a Painboy would be simple and give you another option.
