I was 21 in 1987 & this says it all living at home, partying legally, working, and just being an early 20s rebel LOVE IT!!!!!! RIP Dick Clark!!!

This is the legendary performance where Chuck D. stated that Mike D. told Dick Clark, "Here's your mic, DICK." Hahaha! Classic! That will NEVER air though.

Thank you. Dick actually says "here's Cyndi" after he summons the Beastie Boys to "come this way" I looked the song up and wow,I don't recognize that at all.I think by the time of the Beastie Boys, that was kind of the 'music all sounds the same' period for me.

You can tell Dick Clark was very upset on this episode. He couldn’t get The Beastie Boys to answer a decent interview. They didn’t do that ill shit on Soul Train.

this was the reduced to a half hour bandstand from the 86-87 season.abc wanted it cut to half an hour but dick clark wanted the show to stay an hour after that season it went to syndication and usa network

Who is the girl black w/ the dark curly hair who was backup dancing for the Beastie Boys during this "American Bandstand" performance? Her legs and body (nice and curvy) in general were incredible! :)

I heard that the Beastie Boys weren't very kind to Dick and Kari Clark when they appeared on "American Bandstand"! I heard that they actually spat on her, and that's not cool at all!

So 1987 would put this at the tail end of the ABC run.

Pink Floyd had performed live out of defiance to Dick Clark's policy.
