Hey David which Robot Skimmer would you say is your favorite thus far?

My favorite skimmer to use is most likely the Beatbot iSkim Ultra... and no, I am not sponsored to say that lol. Although I do NOT recommend it to the average pool owner, it's great if you have the money to spend and WANT a skimmer with a ton of features. But to be completely honest, a normal skimmer like the Betta would do perfectly well compared to the iSkim. You literally don't NEED the iSkim. It's more of a do you want it situation.

great information. I’m not sure you would know the answer but I’ll ask anyhow. I bought the Aiper S1 after your review,but it would hang at my infinity edge without sticking just trying to continuously go forward.I called tech support they said send a video, I did and their reply they would ship out another one which I declined, I just got my money back and bought the Betta SE plus, and it did the same thing. I contacted there tech support which said it is not compatible with infinity pools. I rigged it with a plastic pole around 4inches sticking out of the left front leg and it works like a charm, when it goes to the infinity edge it backs up and carries on, my question is would this beat bot work with infinity pools.

Beatbot says that you can use this with infinity pools, yes... but it will work differently than normal. Normally, it uses pool scanning and edge cleaning but since infinity pools don't have an edge, it won't perform the same way, so no S like pattern either. Instead, the iSkim activates what they call DeepSense mode which I think is just a random movement mode. Hope that makes sense!

Thank you, David, for this review. I bought one from BeatBot by pre-order and received it few days ago. I do love this skimmer, connection to wifi is very stable. I got a dark blue color; how do you get a blue one? I will see if I can swap the color.

They sell different colors only on amz right now. Don't know why, but only see them on amz and not their main site.

My experience with the iSkim has been meh. Up until the most recent firmware update a couple days ago, the unit would spit out most of the debris it collects whenever it stopped and reversed. I can even see it happening in your video. BeatBot just released the latest firmware that allows you to toggle "Enhanced Anti-Debris Spilling" mode which will close the front hatch when it's slowing down or reversing.

I noticed some debris being released back. Not nearly as much as other skimmers but still, some yes. I'll have to check out that new firmware, thanks
