So sorry to hear this. Hope people pay attention to this. I did family law for a bit and it is hell watching families being ripped apart over the adults drama. Keep it clean - watching a family right now where the mother has bad mouthed their dad to the children so much that they don't want to live with her. Keep the disagreements between the two of you and not the child. It is best for any children you have since it is better to co parent in a civil fashion and the kids have two parents to support them. My friend and her husband adopted a boy and then her husband decided he wanted a divorce. He was ordered to pay child support but because he was a policeman the order was never enforced and my friend ended up raising her son on a teacher salary while her ex lived on a fancy house boat and bought fancy sport cars.
