Nice bit of hedging there George, there's a contractor up where I am that carries a battery-powered cutter so that when he comes to sign posts , telephone poles etc he stops , cuts close round the pole then carries on , makes all the difference. 👍

Cheers Bob, tricky with hedge cutting to get a decent angle, the mesh is also tricky to see through for the driver 👍

That was an education in one video George. Thank you for that, first and only time I had to test a newly repaired hedger, was a disaster. Had to run along a very minor road and you would not believe the damn traffic that came my way that day!!! Got so bad I gave up! Thanks again, love videos like this, as reminds me of the things I miss.

I must admit, I’m glad I decided to start hedge cutting this year, the weather helped me a lot! I like my Bomford as the rotor motor is on top of the head with belts from it to the rotor, means I’m tighter to the ditches and trees.

Another thing... that's the quietest flail I've ever heard... certainly quieter than the one I used in Ford's at Dunton on an old 5000.. bloody noisy rattly thing!!

Dunno if you're tidy or not.... waited to see from outside, but as an operator, it looks good from Inside the cab. RE Fence, I set the Roller out further to push the stupid wire out of the way. Aye those Greenies Hedges everywhere and allowed to grow over / through the fences/ I Use a Big 2m cut Hedge trimmer attachment : Silent & powerful, Great for SNIPsnip on the Phone lines cable AND the cable Stays for the Tel. Poles. Great fun! Nice when the Head doesn't sink as you drive, I suffer from continual Droop, but since it is usually Grass we cut, hasn't been such a problem. Regs

Tidy as possible, I hate the odd bit sticking up, really annoys me, I used to use one that drooped, very annoying, but you got used to it, whip the ram off and get it resealed unless it's the valve?
@culmalachie3 күн бұрын
@@GeorgeSaunders Hi George, more likely the VALVE unless your cyl gland seal is also leaking. Most "lifting " cylinders use the large face of the piston to provide the lift, sometimes the geometry has it working in reverse. I know that my Valvoil & Kontak valves are the issue, they have an "acceptable" leakage but under the loading pressure, that is exacerbated and then the fidget factor and geometry of the Mower adds to the problem. Oh for a level surface to run on, or expensive Proportional controls.
