Nice haul Dave. Life with the Lions is the gem for me. It's one that Im sort of after - a bit like you just for the vinyl collecting aspect but I know I'll never play it so have always held back. Quite a few people agree with you that I look younger although im not sure if it's the lack of hair or the lack of beard that gives that illusion. Leaves me with a right old dilemma haha . Glad you had a great time in Liverpool.

Some great finds there Dave , it’s a great hobby I was in my local record shop recently and found a side opener white album apparently it’s quite rare as it has 7 digit numbers and the sold in Uk text on 1 side of each record and the Racoon error too , I then found a 2nd press of let it be , both the white album and let it be records were literally as new I don’t think anyone had played them until now . Keep up the great videos , cheers 👍

Hi You did well with John and Yoko's Life With The Lions. I would have bought that as well. Definitely (not maybe). It is like you said more of a record for the collection then an album one frequently listens to. The Beatles Second Album and Beatles '65 are my favourite American Beatles albums. You bought some nice stuff. You really did. I am from the Netherlands, and I've been to Liverpool six times. The last time was in 2019. It's like you said, the Liverpudlians make you feel welcome and make you feel at home. Unfortunately, due to my very bad back, I am not able to visit Liverpool again. I visited The Casbah, got The Casbahtour by Roag, The Cavern, The Liverpool Beatles Museum, The Beatles Story, I did the National Trust Tour to visit Mendips and Paul's home at Forthlin Road, The Magical Mystery Tour coach trip, tour guide on my ride was Jay Johnson, brother of Holly from FGTH, and so on., like Eleanor Rigby's statue., which is amazing. When you watch you can hear and see Paul's lyrics. St.Peter's Church, Eleanor Rigby's gravesite, St. Peter's Church Hall where I spoke to Rod Davis and Len Garry, exactly 60 years later to the day John met Paul, 6 July 1957 2017. Goosebumps and getting emotional. Just the vibe, I guess. The only thing I didn't pay a visit to was Strawberry Field, because it opened two months after my visit. I must say I miss it. I have been a Beatlesfan for almost fifty years. My neighbour got me into them in 1976 with the Beatles for sale album. Take care, enjoy listening and keep The Fab Four alive.

Great records from Liverpool, Dave. The Lennon album is indeed a holy grail. I don't have the quiet elusive UK pressing of it (I do have the American pressing of it and the original 60's Japanese albums that you've shown). Take care and have a lovely weekend, my friend - Eli.

So pleased your package arrived safely and just before you left for Liverpool. Thanks for yet another great video mate. Now I'm going to have to check out this record store next time I visit the 'pool. You got a bargain there with Life With The Lyons at forty quid, I would've paid that for a copy in that condition. Those Japanese pressings are alongside German pressings the best in my opinion. I have a couple of Beatles albums, a Peter Gabriel and a Bob Dylan album, all Japanese pressings and they sound amazing. There is one album I want to get and that's a Japanese pressing of Different Light by The Bangles. It literally sounds like a remaster, but I will track a copy down at some point. German pressings of the early Beatles albums Please Please Me, With The Beatles and A Hard Day's Night are fantastic, amazing volume on them... I got your e mail and hopefully, fingers crossed we'll be able to meet up and go see One Hand Clapping at The Quad. Take care my friend and Peace n Love to You, Sue and Bailey and to everyone out there watching and subscribing...

Hi Dave, Fabulous video, the Japanese Beatles records look fabulous. I don't collect Japanese records myself, but the records look like they are in fabulous condition. When I watched the Mathew Street and The Beatles Story videos, I was lucky enough to watch them unmuted. Have you got the Australian versions of With The Beatles, Beatles For Sale and Magical Mystery Tour with their very unique covers due to Australian industrial laws at the time?

The Japanese are starting to publish their CDs in a 7 Inch sleeve they look really cool the only one I have seen in the UK is The 50th anniversary of Pink Floyds Atom Heart Mother. I wonder what a Beatles collection would look like in this packaging.

Yoko and John's Life With The Lions vinyl album flopped in the UK and did not sell very well in the USA either due to little promotion by Apple. extract, The album failed to chart in the UK, but it managed a number 174 peak in the US. The album sold about 60,000 copies in the US, while about 5,000 were sold in the UK.

That picture disc is a bootleg live recording. Please take it out of the thick PVC sleeve. The PVC "out-gasses" over time and damages the record by creating a "non-removable" film on it. There are numerous videos on KZbin about "out-gassing" which I recommend everyone read. Thanks for the video.

I've got a _perfect_ copy of Something New that's ruined by a PVC tattoo
@terrymann13413 ай бұрын
I tried to warn HMV about this issue and asked them to remove their PVC covers from sale and stick with the much safer poly sleeves they sell instead. Did they listen? Did they buggery?
@charlesduncan31942 ай бұрын
Yes I told hmv the same thing about pvc covers, they said ,, de gasing never heard of it,, .so in my opinion once the records leave the shop they not bothered . I heard of de gasing 3 years ago and changed all mine. I've told youtubers the same thing, some take it on board, some think I'm talking crap.
