The BeatStars AI is trained on beatmakers' production, according to the press release they put out July 25th ("BeatStars and Lemonaide Form Strategic Alliance") - "the AI is trained through a voluntary community of producers who are compensated for sharing their work, and whose feedback is openly encouraged. As Batshon points out, “Our approach, as always, is to treat our community as partners.”"

that's insane. it reminds me of the writers/actors strike going on rn and how Hollywood wants to pay actors for one day to scan their face then use it however they want. I wonder how much the producers got paid

I feel like that excuse has been used by corporations a lot recently. For instance, General electric just raised their monthly billing by 17% and blamed it on their lack of charging their customers for the last 15 or so years. I called bullshit. Not only do I think it's simply an excuse to charge us more money but it's also a nasty way of turning the reasoning onto its customers. As we owe them something for covering the bill for all those years. When the reality is (as long as they're not lying) it's their mistake and something they should learn from. Not ours as a community. I think it would be very interesting video to go undercover and see if they really were making the "mistake" of not charging customers for taxes. Thanks for this insightful video.

The fact they "can't use stripe" is super sus. For one, there is really no other option as stripe controls pretty much the entire world's backend payment processing. They could start using parallel economy, but I doubt they would. There are other ways to bypass stripe by using essentially legalized money laundering by using jump gate banks that obfuscate the stripe transactions for them as a mediator. This is similar to what weed dispensaries do, but generally those "banks" don't last long and you have to find a new one quite regularly. Stripe not being able to "handle" the traffic is utter crap. There is another reason stripe is refusing them and I think that is more important to figure out than any of the other things.
@siemspark
@siemspark Жыл бұрын
or stripe doesn't support the 12% fee
@kaislate
@kaislate Жыл бұрын
@@siemspark haha funny. Maybe, though... the only way this would be plausible is that if the "fee" was being charged by the payment provider, but there was a separate kickback from the payment provider. This situation is highly unlikely cuz it is just far simpler to charge whatever fee you want to for whatever reason without involving the payment processor having to reimburse you through some other method. Also, stripe doesn't care about what fees you charge or anything like that. What they care about is being sued or an agency having the motivation to look into their dealings closer. They make so much money. They don't care about paying their way out of anything, they would rather just not have the attention brought toward them. This is why I believe beatstars has something else going on.

it’s because the people making the website run (the producers), know that any rate/fee for the customer will reduce sales. we would earn more overall if we swallowed the fee ourselves, not our customers. This argument is based on the FACT, that if a product/service is more expensive, it WILL cause less people to purchase. They are doing it because they are greedy. Full stop.

Beatstars is scamming producers more and more. First with their promo that primarily targets other producers. Then with their adverts saying all you have to do to grow as a producer is just post consistently on their platform. Now even if you do pay for their subscription, you still have to pay a percentage. With how much producers tend to get screwed in this industry you would think that the platform made for them wouldn't be scamming them and yet here we are. What a shame.
