Thank you so much for this amazing review Jakob! We at BEATSURFING are all big fans of your channel and we have used your videos to learn apps and gear many times in the past. We’re really happy that you’re so supportive, it’s a real boost to the team to crush those damn bugs even faster. Speaking of which, we will try to address the multi-selection soon. It could be interesting to have a mode that only moves without rescaling, making it more accessible to move the smaller ones? Something like a rescale unlock and a move unlock. We think it may be a good way to keep flexibility and make it faster. Its current implementation is frustrating. On our updates, we try to release an update every week and new instruments every month. Our next big feature release is in the works, and it is a looper. (edit: gesture looper is the v2 looper, v1 is action looper). It’s not obvious but you can re-order layers by dragging the squares up and down in the layer, and you can delete layers by swiping left on it (we have added prompts for that in the new onboarding). We have lots in store and encourage everyone to drop us a line on social media with your ideas, bugs, thoughts, or questions. Thanks again to everyone for the feedback and ideas, we cant make it better without you guys!

Awesome app and will try it no doubt. But I find the pricing strange.... So people who get this on day 1 and stop after a year will miss all the extras the other people get when they pay for this on a later date when everything is out?
@crystalcamino37962 жыл бұрын
This is a pretty common model in music software market, when I bought Ableton 10 I didn't expect to have the features from 11 but I got it before the guy who bought 11 at same price one year later. You def need to check it out.
@TheChameleon20082 жыл бұрын
@@crystalcamino3796 But they have to keep releasing features in order to keep people on a subscription and if you can keep them all when its done then it makes no sense to get anything with this model on day 1.
@BEATSURFING2 жыл бұрын
As mentioned in the ableton comment, we want to keep updating and adding features. We have a really ambitious roadmap for the next few years. From new instruments released, new platforms and many things around integrating into DAWS. So when you purchase you get app+bugfixes for life and the next 12 months of features. Then for a smaller fee you can upgrade to the next years features when that time comes. Its a bit of a hybrid model, which we got from Loopy Pro. But we think its the better than subscriptions and our users "renting" the app.
@TheChameleon20082 жыл бұрын
@@BEATSURFING True, renting apps is just terrible so i must give you that! Im still trying to wrap my head around it since i dont think this model will stimulate people to buy it on day 1 tho.... anyways, thank you for the reply and you made a very awesome app.

Hi, can I use a midi controller with this? Asking for a friend.
@JakobHaq2 жыл бұрын
No. I don’t know if they will add that either as it’s a functionality that would defeat the point of the app. It’s how you interact with the instrument surface that makes Beatsurfing 2 special. If your friend wants to use hardware midi controllers to interact with instruments, I’d recommend looking an at other apps. If it’s beatmaking type apps that they’re after then something like Koala sampler or Beatmaker 3 would work.

@@hrrmtt I will check into it! thx
@BEATSURFING2 жыл бұрын
It's the quantize doing its job. Try setting a different tempo or set the quantize off. Also note that there is the global quantization amount at the top and individual instruments have their own or can be set to global/off. We have tested on the min spec ipads (any ipad with ios 12). I should note when maps and instruments first load there will be some lag for a few seconds. Let us know how it goes, any iPad from the last 5 years should have 0 lag, you can also check the CPU monitor in the top right to see the load on CPU.

Unlock via IAP is too expensive for me!
@hrrmtt2 жыл бұрын
Pricing will obviously go up. It’s not possible to sustain 8 persons working 14 hours a day by selling that much for 29 dollars ;). As all features are free you can consider using the incredibly generous free tiers using only the free instruments like the sampler.

I was hesitant to buy it at $30 without AUV3 (both hosting auv3’s and being hosted in AUM/Loopy Pro) etc, but picked it up at $15 to support the vision and in hopes the developers come thru with updates. This type of app is unique among music apps, it’s like Samplr in its embrace of the touch screen environment. I wish you all the best and look forward to experiencing it mature! As an aside, $30 for a piece of software is not expensive on my $1000+ piece of hardware.
@letssamplethis76412 жыл бұрын
This app was such a disappointment because for a great feature filled app, there is ZERO IAA or AUV3 support. There is so much awesome stuff in this app but if one cant connect it to Loopy Pro (which I was going to buy it for) or AUM then what’s the point. I figured that I’ll wait a few versions and well, still no IAA or AUV3. Other iOS users have asked for the same thing. Still no change as of now. It’s weird!

This video really explained how to use the app. I picked this up on impulse. Lack of a Hold button (Koala) is a deal breaker for me. # Disappointed.
@BEATSURFING2 жыл бұрын
What does the hold button in Koala? You mean hold like adhsr envelopes? The Mini Sampler has two envelope mode one use the hold duration.
@jimshannononsounds2 жыл бұрын
@@BEATSURFING Another word for Hold would be latch. So when I press Hold, the sample loops continuously. Like in the AUM file player. But in Aum for pressing hold that would probably be "Global" for the hole file player, etc. BTW AUM's keyboard has a Hold feature on that keyboard.
