There you are again at my favourite aquarium store. I was there yesterday again, buying a few plants and a pair of scissors. I took a look at the newly scaped aquarium. Obviously no fish yet. Looks great though. Cycling away. I’ll have to find an excuse to return in a month or so to see the fish in there. Tom and Mai are a great couple and very knowledgeable. I’m brand new to aquascapiing and they answer all my questions.

That orchid-like plant is not an orchid! it's a species of Impatiens that's often called jewel weed or also touch-me-not! It's a wonderful plant, and the juice in the stalks can help ease the itching from poison ivy (it also grows in the same places as poison ivy, similar to nettles and dock growing together). The leaves are hydrophobic, and will look silvery underwater, so it's sometimes also called aluminum foil plant. It's called touch-me-not because its seeds are touch sensitive and explode, scattering the seeds, when touched.

When I was first getting into the hobby planted aquaria was my lfs, they have super healthy plants and fish and the owners are super nice and helped me with my tank. I wish I still lived there they have probably the best store I’ve been to in Canada! I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.

So glad you got to see some of the favorite nature sights in Ontario George! Tom and his shop have single handedly allowed my wife and I to create and get into this amazing aqua scaping hobby. I can literally follow your book (awesome BTW) and ask Tom to help me execute it on my end. Huge shout out to him, his wife and just an incredible spot to get some aqua scaping into a country that's desperate for it. Thanks for your work George! Keep inspiring us all.

Love going on hikes with the family! If you ever get a chance George you have to hike threw the redwoods in California! Muir Woods is a great spot and it was only 45 minutes away from SFO airport! Beautiful shop and scapes! We need more shops like this in Chicago! Keep up the great videos!
