I don't usually prefer dark discs but that turned out beautiful.

Thank you. I don’t either but I wanted to try something more neutral colored that will also make that stamp pop. I love it

Great video. Thanks. You answered a couple of questions I've had. I just got an old turntable for spins. I never thought of centering the disc on the platter. 👍👍

When adding the spin with PROchem or Quick coat how long do you let that dry before you wash??

Awesome video! I have a white underworld and want to do something similar. Curious about the stamp. Did you somehow get the stamp gold first, or did it just come out like that? I would love to make the stamp a different color like that if I could
@nowskidyes27403 жыл бұрын
The stamp was gold when I bought it. The dyes wont normally effect the stamp. So you wont need to do anything special to the stamp before dropping it into the glue bed. The only thing you need to do is make sure all the acetone on the glue bed evaporates before you drop the disc in.
@MrKnuts233 жыл бұрын
@@nowskidyes2740 Awesome! Thanks for the quick response. That’s helpful to know. I haven’t done a clear glue bed, but I’m going to with this disc. This might be a stupid question, but how do I tell if all the acetone has evaporated?
@nowskidyes27403 жыл бұрын
@@MrKnuts23 eh. It evaporates pretty quickly. By the time I’m done manipulating the dye it’s gone. 5 min should be more then enough I say from last drop.

How many uses can you typically get out of a bed? I've heard you can re-use it after doing one dye, but is it multiple more time? Does it "degrade"/lend to worse results with each subsequent use? Appreciate any info you can share; results look great. Currently have my first try soaking.
@nowskidyes27403 жыл бұрын
Yes you can reuse it if you stick with relatively the same colors you did before. Most of the dye will lift off with the disc though. The one big issue is that I will get a lot of little tiny bubbles in the glue bed after lift off. It’s a nuisance trying to get rid of them all, but I could probably lift it out of the bed in another way to help prevent this. Also the glue is a little thicker so the design will come out different, but that’s not a bad thing if you find a way to work with it.

How long do you leave it in the glue bed, and can I use white glue?
@nowskidyes27403 жыл бұрын
I give it around 20-24 hours resting in the glue bed. Champion plastic could go 48 hours I haven’t tried white glue, so I don’t know what kind of cool effect it will have on it. People use white glue all the time, but it’s still on my bucket list.

@@nowskidyes2740 Thanks! I will try this method, looks very nice.

What is the exact dye type used, i d like to get some

Here it is. Prochem is the best you can get I think. prochemicalanddye.net/prosperse-disperse-dyes.html

Have you noticed any major differences between using white glue and clear glue? My preference is white for the sake of visibility
@nowskidyes27403 жыл бұрын
I’ve only used clear glue. The way I understand it is lotion bed has the softest result, white glue in the middle, then clear glue on the opposite being very crisp with its outcome.
@brandonfairbanks3763 жыл бұрын
@@nowskidyes2740 interesting. I haven't had any issues getting crisp lines with the white glue.

How are you not getting specking in your dye with shaking the mixture up like that?
@nowskidyes27403 жыл бұрын
You talking about me shaking the dye mixture before dropping it? I try to suction the dye off the top to not get any chunks of dye. Sometimes I do but works for their style I think. I’m still figuring it all out
@nckd12443 жыл бұрын
@@nowskidyes2740 I try to get it off the top but still seem to have the speckling. Great work

I tried this with clear glue and the glue stuck to my disc. Ruined the disc. Perhaps I used the incorrect type of glue. Advice?
@nowskidyes27403 жыл бұрын
The glue is water soluble so it will just wash off in the sink. If the disc is ruined it’s something else. Explain how it’s ruined.
@glenmccoon23473 жыл бұрын
@@nowskidyes2740 its not water soluble glue. I’ll buy some and try again. The other glue wouldn’t come off the disc even with acetone, goo gone, etc... no biggie, I have plenty of discs to try on. Thx
