Beautiful Cameras Under $100 Part 1

The Olympus C-70 or C-7000 is a beautiful camera I picked up for around $20, but can be around $60 usually. Beyond the wonderful design (which really is striking) it features a good 7.1 megapixel CCD sensor and full manual controls. The lens is okay, but does suffer CA under bad lighting conditions, which is a disappointment. It's also not wide enough for me (38mm) but gets to a nice 190mm equivalent on the long end.

Bring back pocket digicams with view finders and pop flashes that are affordable. Most people don’t wanna spend potentially $1000 for an RX100 model to get features that were in cams < $100-200 over ten years ago.

It's ok...I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it. There were very few tiny sensor cameras that produced excellent images. Young photographers are being attracted by the claims that CCD sensors produce " film-like " images - this is arguably correct but proceed with caution - there are many mediocre models out there that are way overpriced.

Like anything depends on how well they made the camera. Ccd definitely has a different look.

As someone who owns two digicams, one being a 2007 Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 and the other a 2011 Nikon Coolpix L21, they do not output a film like image. The kind of photo they put out is similar to what you'd get from a phone camera from 2016-20. Difference being if you are skilled enough you can get way better photos out of those digicams. Some of the pics I have taken with the Panasonic are nearly indistinguishable from photos taken on an iphone 14. CCD has a different look than CMOS but this idea that it gives a film look is false. To anyone looking to get a film look, I'd say your best budget option is using an instax. And if you have the money to buy film, you can pick up a decent film camera like the Nikon Coolpix One Touch S3 for around 30$

I still use my C-7000Z. I particularly like the time-lapse feature which was unusual in a compact camera at the time it was launched.

I have a C-750 uz, tyr best thing it has an electronic viewfinder. Proper screen like in mirror less cameras. You can control everything without even using the full display.

Speaking of beautiful cameras. The nikon d three is one of the great cameras ever. I like big cameras. I don't like film cameras but I like old cameras that have image centers. Use nikon because I love their cameras.

Yeah good luck finding one for under $100 unless you get really lucky. I picked one up for $10 from some old guys garage sale and resold it 2 days later for $150 😅

I would recommend the canon s120 it's a good digi cam for 60-120 bucks depends on the region I got mine for 40 from an old guy who's from the u.k overall a great lil fella for taking pics and videos

A 7MP from 2004? Good lord, I collect older digicams from around that time and the closest thing I have to that is a 5MP cybershot from 2003, not to mention most off brands were interpolating 6MP from 3MP sensors even in 2005. Even the Olympus Camedias I have from around then are at max 3MP, they really pulled out all the stops for this one. My old Nikon D40 DSLR from 2006 is still only 6MP as well.

That is a nice-looking cam. Back in that era, they were still selling compact digicams to enthusiasts (D-SLRs were a bit expensive then) so they tended to be better built with more dedicated hard controls. The LCD screens tended to be kind of terrible but this one is at least somewhat bigger than a postage stamp.

The video was shot with auto white balance. The camera is warm metalic, not cold chrome color.

Yeah, but don't buy it for the esthetics. Buy it for the image quality. Doesn't matter how supposedly "sexy" (a term I never use for inanimate objects like crazy people) a camera is, if it doesn't shoot unique images, it's a waste of money, plain and simple.

Though personally I think it’s absurd that any of these old digicams are being sold second hand for any more than $40, and I feel like even $40 is pushing it.
