I really like the idea of building a new city by the Zimbabwean government , it's something most African countries have not done

Nice video Mr Zim, one thing I keep noticing though is that Zimbabweans tend to embrace the idea that new is better and will solve all problems, we really should learn to maintain what we have already. I am also concerned about the trees in this area it doesn't seem to have a lot, it looks a very nice area but with trees along the roads will definitely give a massive boost in appearances. And the last thing our engineers and planners should also start considering how we plan our drainage systems, so often these wide open drainage systems end up filled with the eroded soils and sand or plastics, and does not allow future expansion of roads or parking.

If you were not so entitled to South Africa politics and brave enough to fight the regime like the revolutionary Nelson Chamisa, DaddyHope Zimbabwe would have Democracy but no instead you are running like rats to South Africa to disrespect, inconvenience and destroy the infrastructure in South Africa.

Citizens have moved into the new capital city earlier than the government. Putting the new capital city within the vicinity of Harare metropolitan province was a very smart idea . We wait for the parliament to move there in March. It's really becoming a reality.

Fairview looks impressive. When building is completely done its gonna be an upscale community. A few tweaks would be to add side walks, cover drainage channels n adding street lighting. Not sure about the noise n traffic from the industry?? Otherwise it's great neighborhood with a reputable school Conway college. Thanx Mr Zim 🇿🇼 n hi to Mr Rosco 😀 give him a big belly rub fo me 😄

Its high time Zim builds a New City in Mt Hampden,we need to avoid congestion in Harare,so its good to see the New City taking shape.We need to see new World class stadiums and so we will leave Harare in a hurry lol! Being born in Harare,I really want to settle in another City when I return back to Zim.I am hearing they want to build a smart City near Marondera,that will be a place I will want to relocate to in Zim.

Nice development. Very interesting conversation going on in the chat about fair value and price. My opinion is there a great deal of price dislocation or distortion in a lot of African countries. Prices should reflect the state of the economy and these prices by and large do not. Yes I agree there are business people and diaspora dollars that act to inflate these prices but housing should be affordable to the masses. Absent that, we will end up with land and housing barons. We should aspire to build a more equitable society that is fair to all of us. It would be interesting to know how much actually flowed into council coffers for a plot of land being sold for $30,000. Yes people should make profit but it should be ethical. I see some including Mr Zim justifying the price because there are willing buyers. On the surface that argument seems logical but not really sustainable. What if hospitals charged randomly inflated prices is that something society should tolerate. My sense is we have a lot of unscrupulous business people who believe in overcharging and some buyers who are willing to play along. Fair game, i guess but a recipe for a not so good society to live in. Are our teachers, policemen, engineers, doctors etc able to afford these prices. If not, we have a problem. A good idea for the city council would be mandating that a percentage of any housing development is dedicated to affordable houses. This is happening in a lot of US cities so you end up with a mixed development because even in the US the question of people being priced out is always an issue especially when it comes to something that is a basic need. So maybe 10 or 20% of these plots would sell at a huge discount to low income citizens. I certainly do not want to see a Zimbabwe where a few own multiple houses while a majority have no chance to own one.

Hello Mr. Zim my friend. Once again, you brought us a wonderful video. Here I am on a Saturday evening feeling relaxed again by your video tour of nice homes. I can't believe the prices for the homes you show us. They probably seem very expensive to you all. but here in Southern California; those exact houses would go for 4-5 million USD easily. If you ever get a chance to visit America Mr. Zim, especially my city San Diego I will show you the same size houses. You will say "this is crazy expensive." Keep these videos coming please.

@Mr Zim 30 thousands for a plot up to 200 thousands ➕️ for a house, you don't think that's too much for a house in zimbabwe where some people are living on $2 dollars a day. ofcourse some people can afford it especially Zimbabweans living abroad and working. zimbabwe is a beautiful country but it needs more infrastructure development. I know its developing but its not there yet. I know your country had a bad setback with sanctions that held it back. that's why i think that those prices are high and the area its located at. I live in Atlanta GA. i can buy a nice house for about 175 to 250 where not too many land is available. with every infrastructure built. are you telling me the prices should be the same or more in zimbabwe? only about 15 years ago i could have gotten that same house for about 120 thousand with the same infrastructure. in the city area of Atlanta prices has went up a lot especially since covid but thats understandable? but I only live 15 to 20 minutes from the city. if you really think about it you know iam right.
@MrZim263
@MrZim263 2 жыл бұрын
@@taharka3897 it's all to do with supply and demand economics in a country. There's a segment of the Zimbabwean economy which can pay those prices, that's why the properties sell out. There's quite a number of people in Zimbabwe who are out earning people in the diaspora, there's plenty of opportunities here to make that kind of money. So as long as the market is willing to pay developers will maximize. Harare is actually cheap compared to other African cities. In Upperhill Nairobi 4000sqm can sell for USD $3.5million to $5million a piece of land only. Lagos is even higher

@Mr Zim its still absolutely ridiculous. and I know there are people in Africa that makes more money than in America. but thats a small amount. yes I know those prices especially in Nigeria 🇳🇬 it should not be with Nigeria underdeveloped infrastructure. and the majority of africa. thats some of the reasons why some countries in Africa remain underdeveloped
