Dan Seals later career is a great introduction to Western music. Seals, from Texas and raised on Western music, was told to "Lose the hat," and became a "Pop music" artist. After achieving success, he went out on his own, so to speak, and lent his great vocal talents to country and western music.

This came out in 1985. Cool fact, in 1993 Marie and actor John Scheinder founded The Children’s Miracle Network. Which was a continuation and expansion of the Osmond Family Foundation for the Deaf and speech impaired,which her mother Olive started because of the two eldest brothers,Virl and Tom being deaf. I asked him how he came to be called England Dan. In a soft southern drawl he said, “My brother Jimmy gave me that name.”

They have a duet called "'A Little Bit Country...A Little Bit Rock' n Roll" which has been a signature song of theirs forever. Sooner or later you've got to check out some of the hits she had with brother Donny. Once Donny's voice changed they brought Marie in to hit some of the higher notes and a superstar duo was born. They not only had several hits as a duet, they had a hit variety TV show (while Marie was still a teenager), a talk show together, and an 11 year run in Vegas together. Donny does a tribute to their time together in the show he is touring right now where he sings the Beatles' In My Life while showing scenes of the two of them together through time.

So love Marie Osmond. Saw her in concert a number of times. She was so awesome in country. There's No Stopping Your Heart is awesome. Gotta love the video of her coming home to her son. She is one of the nicest people. After one of her shows she signed autographs for hours and signed whatever you had. Even gave pictures to people who didn't have something to sign. And never stopped smiling that amazing smile.

I have always loved Marie’s voice. Thank you for reminding me of this beautiful song. I volunteer on the battleship Wisconsin, a museum ship in Norfolk, Virginia. During the first Gulf War Marie performed on the battleship in the Persian Gulf. Thirty four years later the sailors still talk about how kind, talented and beautiful she was. Three years ago she was in Norfolk for a holiday concert. She came by to say hello to some of the crew from 1990. Such a great person!

In the seventies, during the weekly Donny&Marie television show, there was a segment in which Donny& Marie sang a duet about music genres She sang "I'm a little bit Country" which was contrasted with Donny singing "I'm a little bit rock'n roll". Check out "No stopping your heart" Jay, I believe you'll highly enjoy Marie's forays into opera. Checkout "Pie Jesu" and "Nessun Dorma" ( I am also a singer and this one continues to please me!) Montana IS stunning. The western third is beautiful mountains, the eastern two thirds is high plains, farmland and cattle country. I've never been to Oklahoma, so I don't know how it compares.
