I'm glad I'm not the only one that cuts the bottle open.... it's amazing how much you can get out of something you consider "empty".... and for the money one spends on certain items....it would be like throwing money in the trash. Edit to add: if you want to keep your product from drying out after you cut it I've found if I cut right down the middle I can fit one side of the tube into the other and that will keep it from going dry really quickly...of course it's not going to save it for months but it will give you a few days/weeks depending on the product. Some products start to deteriorate the ingredients quickly when air is introduced (vit C, retinol etc) so use those items first.

Hey Nikol, here are a couple of tricks you and the ladies might try. If you are using a tube product, use the knock knock trick. Turn upside down and knock(cap closed)on a flat surface. This forces the product down and out. I use the cut into trick. Here is a better way. Cut the tube scoop, if any left, into the bottom half. Trim the top half and use it as a cap. It will help keep it from drying out. I too always want to get my money's worth, lol. I definitely will try the bint q-tip trick.

For me, Bioderma Atoderm huile de douche and Bioderma Atoderm intensive Baume are my go to for shower and after shower moisturizing. I have been using these for 9 years now. Love them.

Estee Lauder made a body cleanser in the 80's, SeaFoam Wash, that was heavenly. It had little scrubbing particles in it and it smelled wonderful. Well, they changed the formula and it didn't even smell like the original version. I wrote to the company wanting to know if I could buy back stock if they had any, they had none or so they said. I eventually found 3 cases of it on Ebay of all places, but I always kept my eye open for more. My stash finally ran out. I loved that gel cleanser with the green cap so much I would squeeze the tube under the shower head and let some water in it, then shake it around to get that last drop.🤣 And talk about a nut case...I saved the empty last tube in my refrigerator so I can take a "whiff" now and then. Good for nostalgia purposes. 😂

I bought a pair of tiny spatulas to use and scrape every last drop of whatever I’m using! Sometimes there’s a week’s worth of cream etc. left in the bottle! 😊❤❤

OMG I've been cutting my skin products up for years! I even put scotch tape on a few q-tips to reach some hair conditioner because I couldn't cut open the container. Unseen sunscreen by Super Goop. Cut, cut, cut tube. Once you cut tube, you put the two halves together so product doesn’t dry out . Prolong usage this way. I forgot ALL about that 90’s spray from Clairins. Love that. TY❤️

You can save the Caudelie product you showed in the pink tube once you cut it in half (or any other product in a tube like that). Cut the tube directly in half midway down the tube. Remove the excess cream from the end of the tube that does not have the cap on it and put it in the part with the cap and the rest of the cream, I just use a clean finger. You want all your cream at the end of the tube with the cap. Then squish the sides of the tube with the cap end and slide it into the other empty end to make a short, chubby little tube. Slide the empty end all the way down over the cap end as far as you can. Your cream lasts awhile like this, and you can keep separating the top and bottom of the tube as many times as you need to so you can get every last drop. Love this video. We waste so much expensive product and there is no need to.

You mentioned Baccarat Rouge 540. Julliannas Perfumes has a dupe that is spot on. I’m not a fan of 540 but I do get compliments. Under $70 so you might give it a try. I have dupe for Guerlain from same company Spiritueuse Vanille and it is identical to my nose. They have a sampler kit too.

Hey gals, for those cut open tubes with a titch too much product in them for a single use, you can seal them in a ziploc heavy duty freezer bag to get another day or even a couple of days’ use ! 😊

I have been cutting tube products for years and then use those office clips ( don’t know what they are called) to clip it shut. It keeps whatever product is left in there, and sometimes it’s many days worth (!) from drying out. You can buy decorative clips just to be more pleasing😂. I cut the tube at the top first and cut it down as needed and reclip👍I looked it up they are binder clips or paper clamps👍

Hi Nikol! I love your videos! I too love to get every drop of product out of my tubes & bottles. For my tube products I cut them open & to keep them from drying out I put a small piece of plastic wrap over the opening w/ a rubber and around it (if I don’t use all of it at one time). It works great. It’s just like putting the cap back on it.

When I cut open tubes of skin or hair product, once I use some of the TON of product left inside the tube, I sort of fold the end part of tube and insert in into the cut edge of the top part of the tube. I slip it inside a small zipper plastic bag to keep it fresh and clean. This way, I do not have to use up all of it at once. I use my products to the last drop too.

Spray nozzle not working? Try this. Place finger over the small hole of the sprayer and simultaneously pump the sprayer. I was told this “trick” by an engineer many years ago. Method is effective on household cleaning sprayers also. Always works for me.

I cut some tubes as well, because I hate to spoil 10 % or more of the content. It is possible to use the remaining product until the end without getting it dry : transfer the remaining cream from the cut part to the tube with a clean tool, cover the open part of the tube with a piece of plastic food film, then slip as a lid the upper part on the small tube. It will last a few days until the cream will be dry - read the compo of the cream, water is very often in the first positions. I love the q-tips trick 🙂Thank you

If it’s a tube I cut a little below the halfway point and it is always amazing what is in the top part, I scrape it into the bottom and use the top for a cover. I have some skinny spatulas to get inside tall bottles but I get it all. Things seem to be going up in price and some of the sizes are smaller so we as consumers have to be wise about what might be left behind.

Uhmm.....I have a confession to make. I've been cutting tubes of product in 1/2 for years. There is often SO much in there! I do store it for one more use after cutting it open. I put it in a baggie & rubber band it! I can see in the comments, I'm not the only one! Products? I am still attached to Paula's Choice Super Antioxidant Serum, & would be disappointed if it was discontinued. It feels great on those days when I feel especially dry. I also love the cleansing balm. The serum is in a pump I can't seem to get that container open. The balm, I cut in 1/2 when it seems "empty."

We call it cherry picking when you grab from a bunch of different lines. I do believe you should stick with one line and see how your skin reacts. It’s hard to evaluate products of you are using all different ones at the same time that could be conflicting.

Hi Nikol, I cut my plastic tubes in half, I get all the product out of the top part and use it, then I slide the top part over the bottom, this acts as a lid and you can get up to 5 days or more in product, it’s not dried out. Try it

Hi Becky I would first start off with La Mer creme de la Mer see how you like using this product and how your skin looks. Give it at least 4-6 weeks to make an assessment. The soft moisturizer is not my favorite I like the classic la mer as it’s rich and super hydrating.

Products I swear by that I hope will never be discontinued are my anti-aging nighttime ones, which I alternate (3-3-1): * Tretinoin (not likely to be discontinued, but getting it cheap might) * Garden of Wisdom progeline serum * Earth Science alpha & beta hydroxy serum And my Gyph (Amazon) LED red/infrared mask. Looks like the expensive popular one.

Who doesn't do that! I myself try to use up the remaining product if I can.. I did have some foundation that was packaged in a glass container and the pump was permanently affixed . Now I only buy my cosmetics in sustainable or plastic packaging. There are mini spatulas for cosmetics to get down to the last product.
